Boone Memorial Health is seeking a highly organized and clinically skilled Director of Employee Health & Wellness Coordinator (RN) to lead and manage all aspects of employee health, occupational health, and wellness programs across the organization.
This role is critical to supporting a safe, compliant, and healthy workforce. The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with leadership, Human Resources, and frontline staff.
In this role, you will oversee employee health services from hire through ongoing employment, including compliance, surveillance, wellness initiatives, and workers’ compensation coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating and tracking all pre-employment physicals, labs, drug and alcohol screenings, and medical clearances
Maintaining oversight of employee health compliance for new hires, transfers, and current employees
Managing annual requirements such as TB screening, mask fit testing, and other health surveillance activities
Maintaining accurate, confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
Serving as a clinical resource for employee health-related questions
Overseeing employee vaccination programs, including planning and coordinating annual flu clinics
Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements related to immunizations
Coordinating and managing workers’ compensation claims, including injury reporting, follow-up care, and return-to-work processes
Acting as a liaison between employees, supervisors, Human Resources, insurers, and third-party administrators
Planning, implementing, and evaluating employee wellness initiatives and health promotion activities
Leading wellness committees, coordinating events, and analyzing participation and outcome data
Preparing reports related to employee health compliance, wellness metrics, and program effectiveness
Supporting audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews related to employee health programs
Required Qualifications
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of West Virginia
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic record systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
Minimum of two years of nursing experience
Experience in employee health, occupational health, acute care, or a related clinical setting
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, squat, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements
Up to 15% travel within West Virginia and surrounding areas
Travel between Boone Memorial Health facilities and affiliated locations may be required
