A leading emergency care network in the Kansas City region is seeking an accomplished Director of Emergency Services to oversee strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across a high-volume, multi-site emergency department system
This service line includes:
25+ main ED beds
Dedicated rapid-care areas
A high-volume free-standing ED averaging 100+ visits/day
An additional ED location currently under development
This is a high-impact executive role ideal for an experienced emergency services leader ready to enhance performance, quality, and patient experience across an expanding emergency care network.
Provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and clinical leadership across multiple ED locations.
Lead a workforce of approximately 115 FTEs, ensuring effective staffing, scheduling, engagement, and performance.
Ensure delivery of patient-centered, evidence-based emergency care aligned with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Drive performance initiatives related to throughput, patient experience, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency
Partner with medical directors, nursing leadership, and administrative teams to maintain cohesive service line operations.
Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and key performance metrics for all ED sites.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional development, and high reliability.
2+ years of recent Director-level ED leadership in an acute care setting
( Strong ED Managers performing full Director-level duties may be considered)
Proven success improving ED performance, throughput, safety, and quality metrics
Bachelor’s degree (Nursing strongly preferred)
Active Missouri RN license or Compact RN license
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
National emergency nursing/critical care certification ( CEN, CCRN, etc.)
Competitive salary: $135,000–$180,000/year
