As the Director of Education for our In-District Services (IDS) Program at River Rock Academy, you will provide instructional leadership across multiple district-based programs, ensuring high-quality educational services, special education compliance, and exceptional student outcomes. You'll partner with district leaders, mentor educators, and drive continuous improvement while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
What You’ll Need
Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Special Education, or a related field
PA Special Education Teaching Certification or Supervisor of Special Education Certificate, or five years of leadership experience working with children with learning and behavioral challenges (including three years of teaching and/or supervisory experience)
Strong knowledge of special education law, IEPs, and compliance
Experience with curriculum, instructional coaching, and teacher supervision
Knowledge of MTSS, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Experience with at-risk students, alternative education, or special education preferred
What You’ll Do
Lead instructional programming across multiple In-District Services (IDS) locations
Ensure compliance with IEPs, special education regulations, and instructional standards
Coach, mentor, and evaluate educators through observations and ongoing professional development
Monitor curriculum implementation, lesson plans, assessments, and student progress
Partner with district leaders and internal teams to support student achievement and program success
Oversee academic and behavioral data, reporting, and special education documentation
Support MTSS implementation, instructional interventions, and continuous program improvement
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and all organizational policies and professional standards
