Job Description

  1. Screens, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, disciplines and terminates dining room personnel.
  2. Adhere to and uphold company policies and procedures.
  3. Prepares schedules for Dining Room personnel according to AL census and forwards to Regional DDS to review and file.
  4. Assigns wait staff and bus staff to their stations on each shift.
  5. Assigns side duties to staff.
  6. Assures that all dining room systems are functional before, during and after meals.
  7. Constantly observes food delivery, table satisfaction and bussing procedures.
  8. Maintains safety standards at all times and performs safety observations on Dining Room personnel.
  9. Oversees In Room Tray Service-Temporary Illness trays for individual residents as well as building quarantine according to the state Department of Health guidelines.
  10. Responsible for utilizing Point Click Care for: checking resident admissions, discharges, transfers, diet changes/nutrition management. Print/maintain diet lists in kitchen and Reflections.  Print Reflections dining tickets.  Update seating chart and resident preferences as needed. 
  11. Greet residents.
  12. Addresses complaints from Residents and Guests & informs Director of FS of complaints or problems.
  13. Inspects all dining room personnel for proper uniforms, nametags and hairstyle.
  14. Prepares and presents monthly in-service to Dining Room personnel.
  15. Maintains records of Guest checks.
  16. Supervises cleanliness of dining room.
  17. Supervises cleanliness of kitchen areas assigned to wait staff.
  18. Acts as Host/Hostess when they are off duty.
  19. Support food service operations in Reflections and Recreation; conduct training, QA audits, ensure proper practice for handling and storing food is maintained.
  20. Responsible for setup and breakdown of special events, action stations, theme buffets, including cleanliness and storage of equipment.
  21. Take inventory, generate orders and maintain par levels for dining linens, china, glass and silver.
  22. Follow all workplace injury procedures, including completion of reports for timely reporting and issuing corrective action when necessary.
  23. Wear clean and proper uniform.
  24. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
