
Disclosure Scotland delivers a critical safeguarding service providing criminal record checking services to individuals and organisations to support safer recruitment and protect vulnerable groups. We are currently undergoing a digital transformation to develop and continuously improve services based on user needs. We are transforming the way the government provides this critical public service to safeguard children and vulnerable adults. This post requires a person who has a proven strategic and operational leadership experience and excellent leadership skills. The role requires a knowledge of service delivery, application management and support, cyber security and associated policies, leading a highly effective team through digital service delivery.
Reporting directly to the Director of Policy and Digital Innovation you will support the successful delivery of the Digital Strategy and the Organisation Strategic objectives.
As the service owner you will be accountable for the quality, performance, benefits and outcomes of a service. You will provide clear end-to-end direction, prioritisation, risk management and decision making for teams in line with department, policy and user outcomes.

Experience:
Experience and behaviours are assessed at sift, along with a more in-depth assessment at interview.
The Technical / Professional skills will be tested via assessment at interview stage.

If invited for further assessment, this will consist of an interview and a Technical assessment where the behaviours, experiences and technical skills outlined in the Success Profile will be assessed.

Working pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role, including Flexi-leave. Scottish Government staff in hybrid-compatible roles should aim to work in-person 40% of the time, either in an office or other agreed work location. Security checks
Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks – Identity, Right to work, Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
