The Development Director I plays an important role in the overall success of EverTrue by managing campaigns, and developing solid relationships that result in donor retention as well as an increased financial commitment; Responsible for providing guidance to assist with annual giving programs; This position is also responsible for fundraising efforts in the assigned geographical region by seeking out opportunities and developing and implementing initiatives to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support, utilizing the fundraising cycle.

Job Duties

1 Cultivates all donors to increase giving overtime, and makes appropriate handoffs to Advancement Team Members when needed

2 Executes an annual giving plan to meet overall organization goals

3 Collaborates with Major Gifts, Planned Giving, and executive leadership to leverage fundraising techniques of the fundraising cycle to utilize donors, residents and prospects

4 Provides insights the VP of Advancement on departmental budgets

5 Develops, manages, organizes, and leads cultivation events and campaigns with insight from advancement team members and senior leadership

6 Works closely with the EverTrue team to identify, cultivate, and support donors for EverTrue programs and communities

7 Conducts face-to-face visits for the purposes of cultivation and solicitation of gifts by maintaining a schedule of visits each month with assigned prospects

8 Stewards donors personally and promptly to thank them for their gifts

9 In collaboration with Development Services, provides insights for reports on all campaigns and contributions

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Three or more years of experience in fundraising

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills

  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies

A well -lighted and ventilated working area that has a temperature -controlled A/C and heat system. The work will have some short notice requests, timelines for completion of tasks or reports and some major projects extending over months. The employee will experience frequent travel by car with occasional overnight stays. Some exposure to outside weather conditions in the course of travel.

EverTrue Pay & Benefits

Pay grade: G, $76,665.00/year to $123,000.00/year.
