Primary purpose:
The Director of Contracts serves as Lantana's senior contracts leader and is accountable for the review, drafting, negotiation, administration, and risk management of federal-government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements, consulting agreements, and other business agreements. This highly hands-on role requires independently reviewing agreements in their entirety with exceptional attention to detail, identifying business risks, and redlining agreements with clear, well-reasoned language that protects Lantana's interests.
The Director owns the contract review and negotiation process from initial assessment through execution. They use sound business judgment and strong negotiation skills to pursue favorable outcomes while maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders. The Director researches issues; provides clear redlines and recommendations; and engages other functions for review, feedback, and approvals when appropriate. They monitor changes to the FAR, agency supplements, and other applicable requirements and evaluate their effects on Lantana's obligations and processes; implement or recommend necessary changes; and communicate requirements to responsible stakeholders.
The Director is responsible for build a high-performing contracts function as the company grows. Initially, most of the role will involve direct contract and solicitation review, drafting, redlining, negotiation, and administration.
