Company Overview:

Our client is an established Atlanta-area landscape and hardscape construction company with annual revenue of approximately $20million. The company manages commercial outdoor projects to include hardscape and landscape installation through a lean internal team of project managers and field leaders, working closely with specialty subcontractors.

Position Overview:

This leader will lead the project execution for the company. They will oversee multiple project managers, partner with the general superintendent, and provide the owner clear visibility into project performance.The role calls for someone who can develop people and teams, set consistent operating standards, and keep projects on track financially and operationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and hold the project management team accountable for project delivery.
• Review schedules, budgets, job costs, projected margins, billing, change orders, and project risks on a regular basis.
• Work with the general superintendent to coordinate field priorities, subcontractors, materials, and upcoming work.
• Ensure project managers communicate promptly with clients and maintain accurate schedules and documentation.
• Oversee the timely handling of RFIs, submittals, plan revisions, scope changes, and other project requirements.
• Identify projects that are falling behind schedule or budget and lead corrective action.
• Establish consistent project management practices, reporting standards, and expectations across the team.
• Support the hiring, training, and development of operations personnel.
• Partner with the owner and chief estimator on project handoffs, scope review, and planning for new work.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

Ideal Background:

• Proven construction operations experience overseeing multiple projects and project managers, ideally within a company managing $10 million to $20 million or more in annual work.
• Strong understanding of specialty concrete, hardscape, site work, site development, or similar complex construction projects.
• Experience managing substantial work performed through subcontractors.
• Command of job costing, forecasting, scheduling, billing, change orders, and project profitability.
• Ability to develop experienced employees while setting clear expectations and addressing performance issues.
• Strong communication skills and the judgment to represent the company effectively with clients.
• Comfort using construction software and reporting tools to improve consistency and decision-making.

Candidates may come from a specialty contractor or general contractor. Landscape construction experience is valuable, but strong construction operations and hardscape or concrete knowledge are the greater priorities.

Measures of Success:

This person will build a project management team that communicates consistently, understands its numbers, and addresses issues early. Projects will have clear ownership, reliable reporting, and sound coordination between the office, field, clients, and subcontractors.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $130,000 - $150,000
