Team Simonis has an opportunity for a Director of Construction We are currently looking for someone who can help us build a profitable and scalable construction business. This person needs a good foundation in construction and construction management but also has an in-depth understanding of what it takes to start, build, and grow a construction business. This person will ensure that the management of construction activities is consistent across all franchises owned and operated by Team Simonis and will report to the Board of Directors at the San Antonio, TX location. Primary Responsibilities:● Develop annual plans and budgets and assign quarterly objectives for accountability● Define, revise, and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistency● Analyze Key Performance Metrics (KPM's)● Manage Procurement and Resource allocation● Ensure high-quality construction work that adheres to all safety policies and procedures● Perform progress and post-construction walk-throughs.● Ensure that ensure all contractors' work meets industry standards.● Build and maintain relationships with Clients, Customers, Directors and Team members● Manage the recruiting, training, career path development, and guidance of construction team, with HR assistance● Assess, analyze, manage, and mitigate risks● Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Necessary Skills:● Effective written and oral communication● Ability to use an iPad, laptop, and various technology● Valid driver’s license with a good driving record● Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)● Strong ability to review and negotiate contracts● Excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills ● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills● Strong business acumen● In-depth knowledge of the industry● Ability to successfully pass a background check
Education Training:● Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other Construction-related field preferred● Previous management experience required
Minimum 7 years experience in a Construction-Related field required- knowledge of insurance-related reconstruction projects● Direct knowledge of general construction and estimate writing (Example Symbility and Xactimate)● Ability to read floor plans and blueprints
Compensation: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
