Director, Commercial (Automotive Logistics – FVL)
Location: Irvine, California
Compensation: $275,000- $292,000 base plus a performance bonus eligibility of 20% (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

GLOVIS America, Inc., a global third-party logistics provider headquartered in Irvine, California, is seeking a Director, Commercial to lead and expand its Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) business across North America, which includes Autos and over dimensional project cargo (H&H equipment). This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for executing the commercial strategy, revenue growth, and leading executive-level OEM relationships.

Role Scope and Impact
The Director, Commercial will be accountable for developing and executing a multi-year growth strategy across OEM customers and strategic accounts. This role requires ownership of the full commercial lifecycle, including opportunity origination, pipeline development, contract negotiation, and long-term account expansion.
The position provides direct visibility into how commercial strategy translates into operational execution, network design, and infrastructure investment. It is structured to enable strong cross-functional alignment and clear accountability for growth performance.
• Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of a disciplined commercial strategy aligned with capacity, infrastructure, and market demand
• Drive new business acquisition with automotive OEMs and expand scope within existing enterprise accounts
• Build and manage a forward-looking pipeline aligned with long-term revenue and network strategy
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with OEM supply chain, logistics, and procurement leadership
• Lead complex contract negotiations with a focus on balancing growth, risk, and margin discipline
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, network planning, and infrastructure teams to ensure commercial alignment with execution capability
• Contribute to network expansion planning, including terminal development and evaluation of new market opportunities
• Implement structured pricing strategies tied to operational complexity, service requirements, and cost drivers
• Strengthening commercial governance, forecasting accuracy, and overall win-rate effectiveness
• Monitor industry trends, including production shifts, electrification, and logistics network changes, to inform commercial strategy
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a commercially driven executive with deep experience in automotive logistics and a proven ability to drive growth within complex supply chain environments.
• Required Experience
• 15 to 20+ years of experience in automotive logistics, finished vehicle logistics, and transportation networks
• Demonstrated success leading commercial growth initiatives and managing large OEM accounts
• Experience negotiating complex, multi-year logistics or service agreements
• Strong financial acumen, including pricing strategy, cost modeling, and P&L ownership
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing commercial teams

• Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Deep understanding of end-to-end automotive logistics networks, including port operations, rail, trucking, and vehicle processing, regionally.
• Ability to align commercial strategy with operational execution and infrastructure constraints
• Strong cross-functional leadership across operations, finance, and strategic planning
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred
