Steel Sports is a Social Impact organization, located in ten (10) different regions from coast to coast. Responsibilities

Player and coach development · coach education · internal marketing & player retention · family engagement & communication

1. On-Field Program Leadership

  • Coach teams
  • Communication with teams
  • Monitor independent contractor communication
  • On-field issue management

2. Coaching & Staff Development

  • Steel Sports Coaching System Symposiums
  • Hiring: on-field/technical assessment of candidates
  • Staff training: on-field development, practice/game coverage coordination, national rituals & expectations management
  • Onboarding: Steel Edge 1 & other coaching modules
  • Coach education, professional development & CEUs
  • Coach reflection form management
  • Coach feedback form management
  • On-field conduct/performance input for disciplinary matters

3. Player Development & Retention

  • Curriculum development and implementation management
  • Player reflection form management
  • Teams development programs
  • National Program: player nominations, coach nominations, selection follow-up, camp attendance, tournament attendance
  • VEO management: uploading, scheduling, highlights sharing, team folder creation, player/parent/coach invitations, player spotlight
  • Ensuring our playing-time policy is adhered to across all age groups

4. Tryouts – Soccer Execution

  • Coaching staff coordination
  • ID clinics / open trainings (delivery)
  • Post-tryout coach selection meeting
  • Tryout offers: invitation emails/invites via LeagueApps or email
  • Offer follow-up beyond 48 hours (retention-focused)
  • Parent meeting content (program/soccer information)

5. Internal Marketing, Family Engagement & Communication

  • Weekly club announcements & emails
  • Team manager communication
  • Post-game debriefs
  • Pre-game communication with opponents
  • Score keeping / league reporting
  • Player- and family-relationship escalations

6. Club Culture & Social Impact

  • Challenge Coins
  • Athlete Leadership Council
  • Leaders of Character Program

Qualifications

  • Preferred candidate would have an accredited 'B' License or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with children.
  • Prior knowledge of the fundamentals of soccer.
  • Be responsible, flexible, hard-working, ethical, and committed to the mission of Steel Sports.
  • Successfully complete the application and screening process
  • Understanding of and ability to apply principles of quality youth development.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
  • Active engagement with and supervision of children requiring physical stamina, alertness, and emotional stability.
  • Have a general understanding of and proficiency with computer technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to improving conditions and providing opportunities for all youth.
  • Able to encounter challenges with a solution mindset and remain optimistic despite setbacks.
  • Have a growth mindset for continuous improvement in all aspects of the position.
  • Has flexibility and adaptability in work style and in work environments.
