
The Director of Choral Activities is responsible for providing leadership and working collaboratively to ensure growth and development of the choral ensembles and choral/voice area in the Greenwood School of Music. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in musicianship, teaching, and conducting choral music at the collegiate level, as well as expertise in vocal and choral pedagogy. Responsibilities will include conducting the Concert Chorale and Chamber Choir, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in choral conducting, and teaching graduate-level choral literature and pedagogy courses. The successful candidate will be expected to lead on- and off-campus recruitment initiatives for the voice area and build relationships with schools in the state and region. All faculty are expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, to be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote an inclusive workplace and learning environment.
Established national reputation as conductor, teacher, and artist-scholar. Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred. Master’s degree required.
