Job Description

The Director of Career Services provides leadership and strategic direction for all career services operations, ensuring strong job placement outcomes for graduates. This role oversees daily department functions, drives employer partnerships, and ensures compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities


Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Career Services department
Ensure all students receive effective job placement support, including pre-graduation preparation
Meet or exceed placement benchmarks through strong execution of policies, procedures, and job development efforts
Track, analyze, and leverage student data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
Monitor program effectiveness and implement enhancements to improve outcomes
Plan and lead career-related events, employer visits, and hiring initiatives
Organize and participate in Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings
Build and maintain relationships with employers to expand job opportunities for graduates
Oversee job placement activities and outcomes for student cohorts
Ensure accurate and compliant recordkeeping for all student and graduate employment activity
Advise students and alumni on career services offerings and job placement requirements
Hire, train, coach, and evaluate Career Services staff
Ensure data integrity and compliance with school, state, and accrediting agency standards
Manage staff scheduling and payroll submissions
Foster a culture of high-quality customer service for students, alumni, and staff
Collaborate with school leadership to support overall operational success
Lead and ensure completion of required professional development activities
Contribute to team success through collaboration, flexibility, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
Minimum of 2 years in a related field (career services, workforce development, education, or similar)

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to build relationships with diverse populations, including students, staff, and employers
Customer service-oriented mindset

Compensation

65,000 to 70,000
