* This is a fully remote, full-time position; however, the selected candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Los Angeles Air Force Base (El Segundo, CA) to support occasional on-site meetings with customers and business partners.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and results-oriented leader with a deep passion for Government contracting and a proven ability to drive growth in the defense sector, particularly within the Space domain (including USSF, MDA, NASA, SDA, and other space stakeholders). The ideal candidate is a collaborative innovator who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at building high-trust relationships with federal stakeholders and strategic partners, and is committed to advancing Sabel Digital Engineering initiatives. You should be a pro-active problem solver with a strong understanding of Space missions, priorities, and procurement processes. Experience in digital engineering or logistics modernization within the DOD ecosystem is highly valued as is the ability to mentor operational teams, align with portfolio strategics and navigate complex capture landscapes.

• Lead Business Development (BD) and Capture Strategies specifically tailored to Space Force opportunities, identifying and pursuing contracts within the digital engineering ecosystem.
• Collaborating closely with Business Units leads to align BD strategies with portfolio capabilities, ensuring proposal solutions leverage Sabel’s core strengths and meet Space mission needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key Space decisions-makers, program offices, industry partners, and internal staff to expand Sabel’s footprint in the Space market.
• Conduct Market Analysis, competitive intelligence, and opportunity assessments, in partnership with Business Units to inform bid/no-bid decisions and shape winning proposals.
• Lead/Support Capture Management, including teaming agreements, proposal development within the Space accounts, ensuring alignment with Space requirements and Business Units’ needs.
• Track and report on pipeline development, win rates, and growth metrics, providing insights to Executive Leadership to support overall company strategy.
• Represent Sabel Systems at industry events, conferences, and Space-focused forums to enhance visibility and foster new business opportunities, coordinating with Business Units and other BD Directors to showcase Sabel’s relevant capabilities.

Required

• 10 + years of experience in business development or capture management with at least five years focused on Space or DOD clients.
• Demonstrated success in winning Space contracts, with a strong understanding of Space acquisition processes, budgeting cycles, and mission areas.
• Proven track record of building and managing high-value pipelines, including experience with GWACS, IDIQs, SBIRS, OTA, and CSOs.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence Space stakeholders and align with internal Business until leads.
• Proficiency in CRM tools, and market intelligence platforms (e.g. GovWin).
• Strong Leadership abilities with experience fostering cross-collaboration with Business Unit leaders.
• Willingness to travel as needed to engage with Space program offices, industry partners and internal teams.

Salary and Benefits

The range for this position is between $XXXXX and $XXXXX. Actual salary will be negotiated with this position’s Hiring Manager and can vary depending on the following factors: Billable contract and labor category, experience, skills, education /certifications/ licenses & geographic location.
