The award-winning, 480-acre Saddlebrook Resort has made a name for itself as a premier meeting and vacation destination, as well as one of the nation’s preeminent athletic training facilities. Purposely planned as a car-free Walking Village, the resort setting allows guests to easily walk everywhere, surrounded by lagoons and cypress trees. BASIC FUNCTION: The Director of Association Sales is responsible for leading and executing the resort’s association sales strategy to drive group room revenue, meetings, conferences, and events. This position develops and maintains strong relationships with association clients, identifies new business opportunities, and manages the sales process from prospecting through contract execution. The Director partners with Sales, Catering, Revenue Management, and Operations to maximize revenue opportunities, achieve established sales goals, and ensure an exceptional client experience while meeting or exceeding the resort’s overall profitability objectives.
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business and meet client needs. This position may require occasional travel for client visits, sales calls, and events. Must be a team player who loves to apply creativity and a good sense of humor to the sales process. The ability to listen, speak and write in English to ascertain information and respond to clients is a must. Independent, high energy, entrepreneurial sales professionals will excel. Knowledge of large resort hotel structure and how all departments interact is a plus. Experienced in Amadeus / Delphi or similar space / rooms inventory systems is certainly highly important A minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet, greet, and entertain potential clients, providing information regarding the property to promote and increase sales. Generate requests for proposals and manage efforts to secure Association market group and event business. Negotiate contracts ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Supervise the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings, working closely with other departments to ensure that the guest specifications are met and their satisfaction is achieved. Represent the resort in targeted trade shows, maintaining high visibility and positive relations in relative association business organizations. Association Market sales strategy, planning and sales performance and reporting. Must meet or exceed annual goals/targets of position. Must be willing to travel to trade shows, events in market, throughout the US.
