We are seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Director of Advancement Information Systems, responsible for leading the systems, data strategy, and operational infrastructure that underpin Colorado College’s Advancement work. This role shapes both long-term strategy and day-to-day operations to ensure CRM optimization, effective system integrations, and the integrity of robust, reliable data. The Director will oversee reporting and data analytics that drive fundraising and alumni engagement efforts, champion best practices in system and data management, and collaborate across the institution to deliver meaningful insights and tools that advance our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Advancement Systems and CRM Leadership
    • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for the optimization of the advancement CRM and accompanying suite of technological systems, ensuring that advancement technology infrastructure, data strategy, and business processes support and propel ambitious fundraising and engagement goals.
    • Partner with the college’s Information Technology Systems (ITS) Division on software, systems, and data integrations to maintain a strategic and sustainable data ecosystem.
    • Lead system upgrades, data migrations, automation projects, and technology transitions.
    • Oversee data governance for Advancement and partner with ITS to support campus-wide data governance activity.
    • Conduct ongoing evaluation of industry trends and emerging technologies to support business requirements and enhance advancement technology systems.
    • Assess training needs and develop training protocols to support end-users and ensure system usage is optimized.
  • Records Management
    • Provide strategic direction for records management.
    • Design proactive strategies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
    • Develop and oversee data integrations to support data quality and usability.
  • Reporting and Data Analytics
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive reporting, data visualization, and analytics framework to support fundraising and engagement outcomes.
    • Provide both strategic direction setting and engage in hands-on work to create dashboards/reports and meet data extraction needs.
    • Manage Advancement’s role in compliance and benchmarking reporting including VSE, 990, charitable registrations, and audit requests.
  • Departmental and Personnel Management
    • Supervise a team of approximately five direct and indirect reports.
    • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and provide problem-solving assistance for staff; provide leadership, advocacy and professional development.
    • Oversee all budgets related to the Advancement Information Services Team, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 10 years of experience in a related field with at least 7 years of supervisory or managerial experience

One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $101,271 to $126,588 per year
