Job Description

The Director - NPI & Industrialization Leader is central to the overall global supply chain product delivery strategy. In this role, this individual will lead a team to industrialize new products, manage component and product transfers between factories and suppliers, execute new product/technology introduction programs, and drive product cost reduction.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Gas Power Global Supply Chain Development (SCD) team. The SCD team is focused on managing the cross-functional efforts required to continuously improve and optimize how and where we manufacture and source our Gas Power components, products, and services. The team partners with engineering, product line, pivot to value, sourcing, lean, manufacturing and repair teams to ensure a cohesive long-range strategy, including capital allocation, to strengthen our competitiveness in both new units and services. Key KPIs for this role include safety, quality, delivery, cash and cost.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Director - NPI & Industrialization Leader, you will:

  • Lead and collaborate across multiple organizations (Product Line, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Materials Management) to industrialize new products on-time that meet quality and standards while achieving cost targets for both equipment and service programs.
  • Iterate from concept through final design with design teams to ensure balance of producibility and cost.
  • Deliver stable product production process to Factory and Sourcing for optimized quality/cycle/cost. Align sourcing strategy integrated with NPI strategy.
  • Responsible for successful execution of NPI programs following the SQDC framework for both new units and services
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within the Global Supply Chain team to analyze and evaluate make-versus-buy router decisions, evaluate program level plant and equipment investments, lead and drive projects, and effectively partner with Sourcing to manage the NPI supplier selection process
  • Accountability to manage component and product transfers between factories and supplier operations
  • Represent Global Supply Chain as the focal for NPI program execution
    • Partner with Engineering to ensure technology readiness of the supply chain for new products including full understanding of the impact of cost and technology curves to ensure accurate delivery of New Product Introductions.
    • Partner with Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technology (AMRT) team, New Technology Integration, and Cores & Castings to ensure smooth transition from new technology and advanced manufacturing techniques into products and/or processes (additive, cores, advanced coatings, etc.)
    • Collaborate with Product Line and P2V to understand the evolution of the product into the future state, and on cost to be competitive in the market.
    • Strong connection with Quality organization to ensure robust hand-off during NPI & industrialization process. Key Supply Chain partner on NPI Hoshin strategy & action plan execution.
    • Partner with Manufacturing, Materials and Sourcing leaders to effectively evaluate product and component make-buy decisions and plant and equipment investments.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading engineering, product management, sourcing and/or manufacturing teams
  • Significant relevant experience in gas turbine or equivalent technology

  • Cross functional leadership – able to motivate team effectively, facilitate collaboration, and influence a long-term vision and solutions-oriented culture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the overall Gas Power business vision and ability to align supply chain optimization opportunities to that vision.
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude to understand and articulate complicated trade-offs.
  • Able to leverage lean thinking, culture and tools into problem solving. Demonstrated ability to take a vague problem, analyze it to fully understand root cause, identify a detailed action plan, and partner with stakeholders to achieve goals. Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, PFMEA, 5 whys, etc.) and use of such in a business sense.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance thought leadership, continuous learning and improvement with demonstrated results.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to team members, senior leaders, suppliers, and customers
  • Skilled communicator capable of listening to different perspectives and incorporating them into a balanced approach that optimizes the outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute supply chain long term projects and strategies including understanding of demand planning, transfer dynamics and allocations/cut-ins.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $192,0000 and $288,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
