
Responsible for preparation and coordination of medical staff functions including medical staff and medical staff committee meetings (agendas, minutes, follow-up), bylaws, rules and regulations and policies and procedures for approval by the medical staff and governing board; oversight of all credentialing processes (maintenance of credentials files, initial appointment and reappointment of medical, allied health practitioner and outpatient staffs). Participates in development and processing, as applicable, of quality management activities for the department and the medical staff. Prepares budget for the medical staff organization and the medical staff services department.
Experience:
- Three or more years of recent previous experience in medical staff services.
- Completion of required training with Mercy medical staff services and credentialing and data center.
Certification(s):Certified Medical Staff Manager by the National AssociationMedical within two years of hire.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Computer knowledge; MS Word, Excel, Access and use of internet.
• Above average organizational skills and attention to detail.
