Job Description

HCT seeks an experienced medical staff services leader for a 300+ bed hospital in California. The Interim Director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • directing, planning, and managing the daily operations of the medical staff office,
  • establishing and maintaining continuity in the implementation of standards relating to credentialing, quality, education and governance functions, and
  • ensuring the Medical Staff Office and credentialing program follows state and federal regulations, TJC standards, and CMA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in healthcare with 5+ years leading a Medical Staff Services department within a hospital setting; Medical Staff credentialing, basic Medical Staff organizational structure; knowledge of TJC, CMS, CDPH/Title 22 Standards, and NCQA standards for hospital medical staff.
  • License: None required
  • Certifications: CPCS and/or CPMSM required
  • Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge of databases, Electronic Medical Record, other related software applications and Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)

Expenses are covered on assignment including housing, airfare, and rental car.
