We are looking for a dynamic Director of Global Business Development who will be responsible for the development, implementing and execution of strategic business development initiatives and go-to-market plan, driving sales growth for a portfolio of 3D printing solutions including hardware, materials, software and full workflow solutions. This role requires a unique combination of expertise and sales experience in the medical device field including leadership and business acumen to achieve ambitious sales targets within the complex healthcare environment.

As Director of Business Development, you will report directly to the Vice President of Medical.

Succeeding in this role will require a self-starter who is excited about the impact that AM can have within the medical industry, who understands Medical OEM’s product life-cycle development process and capable of identifying and matching unmet needs to AM solutions, who has a strong networks of Medical OEM and Hospitals and who can help develop these markets for our solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Global Strategy & Market Expansion: Identify, target, and capture new global market opportunities by mapping out strategic partnerships with leading medical manufacturers, healthcare providers, and key industry stakeholders.
• Opportunity Translation ("Hunter" Mindset): Act as a self-driven hunter who thinks outside the box, proactively identifying business opportunities, solution fit and orchestrating cross-functional execution through Sales, Marketing, Product, and R&D teams.
• Build, oversee, and nurture business relationships with medical OEMs and hospital networks around unique Stratasys solutions, while leading new product introductions through commercial readiness, targeted customer engagements, certified channel enablement, and post-sale feedback tracking.
• End-to-End Deal Leadership: Drive the business development lifecycle from initial prospecting and high-level relationship building to negotiation, contract closure, and successful onboarding.
• Market Intelligence & Analytics: Lead market analysis and opportunity assessments including VOC analysis, trend tracking, competitor benchmarking, and technological gap analysis with a strong command of the US and European markets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Development, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure alignment between market demands and our medical solution offerings.
• Stay up to date with technology development, regulatory requirements, reimbursement policies, and industry trends within the medical device market.
• Global Relationship Management: Build, oversee and nurture an exceptional, executive-level network of key decision-makers across the medical device and hospital sectors.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in international business development, global strategic sales, or commercial leadership within the medical device, healthcare technology, or digital health sectors. Experience in 3D printing- a Plus
• Market Expertise: Deep, hands-on familiarity with the US and European medical markets, medical manufacturing ecosystem, and hospital environments.
• Demonstrated experience in working with indirect channels (e.g. distributors) Identifying, recruiting, and engaging new sales channels- a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in working with strategic accounts, developing, and executing multi-year growth programs.
• Demonstrated success of working with cross-functional teams such as product and sales to define innovative market and customer opportunities.
• Regulatory & Quality Acumen: Working knowledge of medical product development lifecycles, regulatory pathways, and medical quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485).
• Business Acumen & Track Record: Demonstrated history of closing high-value, complex international agreements and driving scalable revenue growth. Experience selling capital equipment and managing accounts of >$30M p.a.
• Execution Style & Drive: A self-motivated, "out-of-the-box" thinker with a roll-up-your-sleeves, hunter mentality who can operate autonomously and drive execution through diverse corporate teams.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence C-level executives and cross-functional global teams.
• Experience in direct management of employees. International employees- a plus

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or Business Administration; an MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.

Travel: Up to 40%. Ability to travel globally is needed to support strategic accounts and international partnerships.
