Job Description
The Director, Media Strategy leads the development and execution of full-funnel, data-driven media strategies that drive brand growth, customer engagement, and measurable business impact. This role oversees integrated media planning across traditional, digital, social, streaming, and emerging channels while balancing long-term brand building with short-term performance objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic and results-oriented leader with strong analytical capabilities, deep media expertise, and the ability to drive innovation across a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Media Strategy & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of integrated, full-funnel media strategies across brand and business priorities
- Own media investment planning and budget management, ensuring effective allocation and return on investment across channels
- Drive omni-channel media planning across television, streaming, digital, social, out-of-home, and emerging platforms
- Translate business goals and marketing objectives into actionable media strategies and campaign plans
- Ensure strong alignment between media strategy, brand storytelling, customer experience, and commercial priorities
Audience & Performance Analytics
- Leverage audience insights, analytics, and media performance data to optimize targeting, investment, and campaign effectiveness
- Partner with digital and analytics teams to monitor KPIs, evaluate performance, and refine strategies in real time
- Champion an audience-first approach across planning, activation, measurement, and optimization efforts
- Utilize data-driven insights to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and improved customer engagement
Cross-Functional & Agency Leadership
- Serve as the primary media lead across Brand, Creative, Social, PR, CX, and other cross-functional teams
- Manage agency relationships, including performance management, strategic planning, and contract oversight
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver cohesive, integrated campaigns across all channels
- Drive alignment and communication across multiple stakeholders within a matrixed organization
Innovation & Media Transformation
- Stay ahead of media trends, emerging technologies, and evolving consumer behaviors
- Evaluate and pilot new media platforms, advertising technologies, and innovative partnership opportunities
- Lead initiatives that improve media effectiveness, operational agility, and measurement capabilities
- Identify opportunities to unlock incremental business value through strategic media partnerships and investments
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing media team
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Present media strategies, campaign results, and business recommendations to executive leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor on media and consumer engagement trends across the organization
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, investment, or integrated marketing roles
- Proven experience leading full-funnel media campaigns across multiple channels and consumer touchpoints
- Deep understanding of traditional, digital, social, streaming, and emerging media platforms
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience using media and performance tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Ads, DSP platforms, or media measurement solutions
- Experience managing large budgets, agency partnerships, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships
- Strong leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills
- Experience operating within complex, matrixed organizations
- Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution and measurable business impact

- Experience leading media transformation or omni-channel growth initiatives
- Familiarity with media mix modeling, audience segmentation, or advanced attribution methodologies
