Job Description

Flex is the diversified manufacturing partner of choice that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products that improve the world.

A career at Flex offers the opportunity to make a difference and invest in your growth in a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment. If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Manager – Mechanical Commodity Management, Europe, located in Poland at either our Bielsko-Biala or Tczew facility.

The Senior Manager - Mechanical Commodity Management, Europe is the regional technical and commercial leader for sourcing and procurement activities associated with the European mechanical supply base.

Reporting to the Global Mechanical Commodity Lead, you will lead regional supplier strategy and sourcing execution across metal, fabricated metal, packaging, fasteners, hardware, and other assigned mechanical categories, in close alignment with designated global commodity and supplier strategies. The role will partner with global commodity leaders, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance, Commercial teams, and Manufacturing sites to deliver competitive sourcing solutions, strengthen supply assurance, support new business, and improve profitability and working capital.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep knowledge of European mechanical suppliers, manufacturing processes, cost structures, and commercial practices. The successful candidate will combine technical credibility, strong negotiation capability, market intelligence, and disciplined execution. The role may lead a small team or coordinate regional resources but is primarily accountable for functional expertise, supplier engagement, and business results.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage regional mechanical commodity strategy, execution, and performance.
  • Translate business growth priorities and global commodity strategies into actionable regional supplier, sourcing, capacity, and risk-management plans.
  • Identify, assess, qualify, and develop suppliers that meet technical, commercial, quality, capacity, and geographic requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with strategic European suppliers and serve as the regional escalation point for significant commercial, operational, quality, or supply issues.
  • Support preferred-supplier alignment while identifying regional capabilities and alternatives that strengthen competitiveness and resilience.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of supplier capabilities, capacity, technology, financial health, and market position.
  • Serve as the regional subject-matter expert for mechanical manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, cost drivers, tooling, and regional supply-market dynamics.
  • Lead complex supplier negotiations covering pricing, productivity, payment terms, rebates, tooling, inventory arrangements, capacity, and contractual conditions.
  • Improve cost transparency through should-cost analysis, benchmarking, raw-material indices, manufacturing-process knowledge, and competitive sourcing.
  • Partner with Engineering on material selection, design for manufacturing, value engineering, tooling, and supplier capability assessments.
  • Ensure technical requirements and commercial agreements are understood, documented, and executable by the selected supply base.
  • Provide clear recommendations and fact-based challenge to internal stakeholders, suppliers, and global commodity leaders.
  • Support quotations, new-product introduction, supplier selection, localization, and manufacturing ramps in Europe.
  • Develop sourcing solutions that balance cost, quality, lead time, capacity, technology, customer requirements, and supply continuity.
  • Identify and remove supplier, commercial, and capacity constraints that could affect customer commitments, operational performance, or revenue growth.
  • Monitor European market conditions, including raw materials, energy, labor, capacity, regulation, and geopolitical developments, and translate these into actionable business recommendations.
  • Lead regional responses to shortages, supplier disruptions, capacity constraints, and other critical supply risks.
  • Coordinate effectively across global commodity teams, European sites, business units, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, contractual requirements, and applicable laws.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Deep knowledge of European metal and fabrication suppliers and manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, machining, stamping, die casting, extrusion, welding, tooling, finishing, and mechanical assembly.
  • Knowledge of packaging, fasteners, hardware, and related mechanical supply markets.
  • Strong understanding of supplier economics, raw-material drivers, conversion costs, capital requirements, capacity, and total cost of ownership.
  • Proven success leading supplier negotiations, sourcing decisions, cost-reduction programs, and supply-risk mitigation.
  • Ability to convert global commodity direction into effective regional action while representing European requirements and opportunities.
  • Strong technical, analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capability.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.
  • A hands-on, self-directed working style with strong ownership, urgency, and execution discipline.
  • Ability to create clarity, make sound trade-offs, and deliver results in an evolving environment.
  • High standards of integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical business conduct.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Materials Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Significant progressive experience in mechanical sourcing, commodity management, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, or supplier-facing commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing European mechanical suppliers and complex commercial negotiations.
  • Experience operating in a global, cross-functional organization across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Professional fluency in English. Additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, industrial technology, infrastructure hardware, data-center equipment, networking, or another complex manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Europe and internationally as required.

What you’ll receive for the great work you provide:

  • An interesting and challenging job in an experienced and great team
  • Substantive support in the adaptation process
  • Participation in international projects and collaboration with high-class specialists
  • Access to modern technologies
  • Benefits Package (private medical care, life insurance and benefit card).
  • Clear promotion criteria
  • Employment contract
