Location: Phoenix, AZ or Almere, Netherlands

We are looking for a strategic and innovative leader to join ASM as a Director of Market Analytics. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving key business decisions through market opportunity evaluations, competitive intelligence and revenue projections. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with global teams, contribute to product strategy and directly influence the future of ASM's positioning in the semiconductor industry. Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to evaluate and size market opportunities across existing and new technologies, focusing on cutting-edge Logic/Foundry, DRAM and NAND markets, while also addressing mature markets such as Power, Analog and CIS.  Continuously refine and enhance market modeling tools and triangulation techniques
  • Provide comprehensive analysis and reports on ASM’s market share, revenue and competitive position. 
  • Periodically review, update and maintain market models to reflect the latest industry trends and technology shifts.  
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from business units, business development, Sales, manufacturing, investors relations, finance and R&D to align on market assumptions, competitive analysis and potential adoption in key areas. 
  • Lead cross-regional and cross-disciplinary alignment meetings to ensure unified views of market opportunities and competitive positioning, keeping all assumptions up to date. 
  • Lead and coach the Red Team for competitive analysis, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive product strategy decisions. Engage across global regions and departments, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages diverse input. 
  • Drive competitive analysis for high-value products and segments, collaborating with BU, Field, IP, and R&D teams. Use competitive insights to inform product strategy development and assess risks and opportunities. 
  • Support company-wide strategic planning, long-range forecasting and investor communications, including for quarterly earnings calls and investor days. Collaborate with corporate communications and business units to contribute to external technical marketing communications. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or similar) or MBA with BS in technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor device and manufacturing and/or equipment markets. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in market sizing, competitive analysis, and strategic decision-making related to wafer fab equipment product marketing, application, sales or related practices such as sizing capacity, ROI, etc for a device manufacturer. 
  • Strong data analysis, critical thinking and presentation skills. 
  • Proven ability to align and influence cross-functional and global teams (business units, business development, Sales, manufacturing, investors relations, finance and R&D). 
  • Experience engaging global teams (Sales, Technologists and BU Marketing) and managing meetings across multiple time zones (Asia, US, EU). 
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills, including executive-level presentation experience. 
  • Flexibility to travel internationally and domestically up to ~25%, is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific focus on FEOL, BEOL, and advanced packaging deposition technologies withing leading-edge logic, foundry, DRAM, and NAND, with exposure to leading-edge and/or MTM emerging technologies. 
  • Experience in mature markets such as trailing-edge Foundry, Power, Analog and CIS. 
  • Deep understanding of how end markets influence semiconductor equipment markets. 
  • Familiarity with product development, portfolio management, sales processes and best practices. 
  • Proven ability to continuously improve processes and develop new market modeling techniques.
