Flexible Location

This position is based in a home office anywhere in the U.S. Travel for team and organizational meetings is required a few times a year.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This Director will lead the Learning and Development Center of Excellence, creating a coherent learning strategy design to equip all staff with the knowledge and capabilities to grow, adapt and support TNTP’s future work. This role enables organizational strategy by creating the learning roadmap required to deliver on the organization’s goals. Success is measured by adoption of standards, quality of learning across the enterprise, and capability built.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead an enterprise Learning & Development strategy aligned to organizational priorities, workforce capabilities, and the future of work – not just our current skill gaps.

  • Build and govern a Learning & Development Center of Excellence, setting standards, frameworks, and decision rights while enabling distributed learning ownership.

  • Establish and maintain governance for TNTP’s internal learning systems (Workday Learning)

  • Operate as a thought partner to TNTP’s People Business Partners and senior leaders to translate strategy into scalable learning frameworks and operationalize high-impact learning roadmaps

  • Oversee the end-to-end learning lifecycle – from needs assessment and design through delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

  • Measure and continuously improve learning programs by defining and tracking learning impact metrics that go beyond participation, ensuring learning prioritizes application, practice, and impact, and establishing reporting structures and routines to measure and communicate impact and ROI

  • Continuously pilot and scale new learning technologies and modalities, including leveraging AI to accelerate learning responsibly and using data to assess effectiveness and adoption.

  • Act as a change leader, helping the organization adopt new ways of learning and working.

  • Cultivate a culture where learning is embedded and strategic – not episodic or optional.

  • Triage learning requests using defined intake criteria (strategic alignment, organizational impact, and capacity)

  • Balance strategic program design and delivery with practical enablement, including developing standards, frameworks, and toolkits while equipping others across TNTP to deliver high-impact learning experiences

  • Recommend when learning should be deferred, embedded, or decentralized based on needs and target outcomes.

  • Support learning operations for TNTP’s Leadership Development strategy.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in organizational learning and development

  • Experience managing and facilitating organizational change efforts

  • Experience leading learning portfolios in resource constrained or high-change environments, with demonstrated ability to say no and re-sequence work.

  • Experience designing learning in professional services, consulting, or knowledge-intensive environments.

  • Understanding of how adults learn at work

  • The ability to establish yourself as at trusted advisor to staff at all levels of an organization

  • Comfort and experience analyzing data to determine the right path forward in your work and develop data-driven recommendations to leadership.

  • Comfort with making and communicating tradeoffs based on impact, capacity, and timing.

  • Experience managing complex projects from creation to completion

  • Excellent communication skills

WHAT WE OFFER

The salary range for this position is $137,920 - $206,880. New hires can typically expect a starting salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint ($137,920-$172,400), in alignment with experience, qualifications, and our commitment to equity in compensation.
