The Ratings team supports credit opinions and market-facing analysis across sectors. The Impact and Responsibilities

Serve as a pod lead and subject matter resource for Regulated Utility coverage in North America, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic priorities.
Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (ratings committees, legal, surveillance) and external market participants (issuers, advisors, lenders) to surface material credit information.
Responsibilities
Lead credit analysis for Regulated Utility transactions and issuers, including financial modeling, covenant and structure review, and scenario stress testing.
Produce clear, concise credit writeups, committee materials, and market commentary that translate complex technical analysis into actionable conclusions.
Oversee the relationship with issuers in the portfolio
Coordinate and mentor junior analysts in the pod; assign work, review deliverables, and provide feedback to develop technical and analytical skills.
Monitor market, regulatory, and sector trends in North America and incorporate those insights into issuer surveillance and forward-looking analysis.
Engage cross functionally to gather inputs and ensure consistency of approach across ratings and product teams.
Maintain high standards of documentation, quality control, and timeliness in all deliverables.
Embody a risk aware culture including leading by example, ensuring that analytical guidelines, quality standards, procedures and policies established are adhered to for all credits.
Lead operational and process improvements, maintaining a focus on both analytical excellence and a risk mindset.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation/Benefits Information:
(This section is only applicable to US candidates:) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $170,000- $231,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 7+ years of experience in financial services or capital markets
Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree or CFA strongly preferred
Strong regulated utilities background with deep understanding of corporate credit analysis gained in a transactional, analytical or credit roles with at least 3 years experience as a corporate analyst
Proven ability to synthesize quantitative analysis and qualitative factors into clear credit opinions and committee materials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex analysis to senior stakeholders and external market participants.
Demonstrated ability to lead small teams or pods, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams or initiatives across the organization
Track record of influencing stakeholders internally and externally to support key initiatives
Demonstrated ability to articulate market trends and represent the organization externally as a subject matter expert
Aptitude for learning new applications/proprietary software including emerging digital technologies.
