The Service

KU Grandstand Preschool is open Monday to Friday 8am-3:30pm during NSW school term times and fosters a warm, inclusive, and collaborative environment where children thrive through inquiry-based learning and strong community connections.

Tucked away in the middle of a serene parkland setting behind North Sydney Oval, our 60-place exceeding rated preschool is conveniently located within walking distance to public transport.

The team are committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care, grounded in evidence-based practice and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher qualified Director to lead our team in a permanent full-time capacity, working 7.6 hours per day, Monday to Friday during NSW school term times.

The role provides a balance of direct engagement with children and dedicated non-contact time to undertake Educational Leadership and Director responsibilities. We are looking for a leader who values remaining connected to children's everyday learning experiences and who sees the classroom as the heart of their leadership practice.

The Successful Candidate will

Be

• Available to commence in Term 1, 2027 (25 January 2027).
• A visible, hands-on educational leader who is passionate about working alongside children and educators, role-modelling high-quality teaching practice, mentoring and supporting educators, and fostering a culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Have

• Demonstrated experience in a director role within an early childhood education setting.
• A strong understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogy and educational leadership.
• Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, and the broader community.
• Experience in team leadership, mentoring and coaching educators to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Sound knowledge of rostering, daily operations, policy implementation, compliance requirements, and service management.
• A commitment to inclusive practices and creating environments where every child, family, and educator feels a sense of belonging, respect, and value.
• A passion for pedagogical inquiry, reflective practice, and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning.
