The Director, IT & Digital – Greenville is the site leader responsible for enabling business performance through data, analytics, AI, and digital capabilities, supported by reliable, secure, and compliant IT operations.

Operating within a global, matrixed IT organization, this role is accountable for deploying and operationalizing digital and AI solutions—including core manufacturing and quality platforms (e.g., MES, lab systems)—ensuring they are fully integrated, scalable, and sustainable in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The Director partners closely with Site Leadership, Digital PPI, and enterprise IT and Data/AI teams to translate business priorities into executable plans and ensure solutions are embedded into site operations and delivering measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data, AI & Digital Enablement:
    Lead site readiness and deployment of data, analytics, and AI use cases. Ensure reliable, governed data and strong integration across systems, including MES and lab platforms, to support scalable analytics and AI.
  • Digital Deployment & Integration:
    Own site readiness, integration, and go-live execution for digital products and platforms, including manufacturing (MES) and lab systems (e.g., LIMS) Ensure solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and supportable.
  • IT Operations & Service Delivery:
    Ensure stable, secure, and compliant IT services across infrastructure, applications, and end-user services. Lead incident, problem, and change management.
  • Operationalization & Value Enablement:
    Partner with Digital PPI to ensure digital and AI solutions are fully operationalized, embedded into site workflows, and capable of delivering measurable business value.
  • Site Leadership & Partnership:
    Serve as the primary IT & Digital leader for the site; partner with Site Leadership to align technology and digital priorities with business needs.
  • Governance & Matrix Execution:
    Drive prioritization, alignment, and execution across site and enterprise teams. Establish clear operating cadence, KPIs, and escalation paths.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    Ensure adherence to GxP/CSV requirements and maintain audit readiness. Proactively manage technology risks and technical debt.
  • Cybersecurity & IT/OT Integration:
    Enforce cybersecurity standards and ensure secure, reliable integration across IT and operational technology environments.
  • Financial Ownership & Value Management:
    Own site IT and digital budget, including planning, forecasting, and cost control. Partner with Digital PPI to ensure investments are prioritized based on business impact and aligned to site and enterprise objectives.
  • People & Vendor Leadership:
    Lead and develop site IT and digital resources and manage vendors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT, digital, or data/analytics leadership experience in regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience deploying digital, data, or AI solutions into operational environments
  • Strong understanding of GxP/CSV and compliance requirements
  • Experience working in matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven people leadership and cross-functional influence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with digital manufacturing and quality systems (e.g., MES, LIMS, shopfloor systems, data platforms)
  • Experience enabling analytics or AI use cases in manufacturing, quality, or supply chain
  • ITIL, PMP/Agile, or cybersecurity certifications
