Director, Country IT – Australia & New Zealand

Location: Melbourne or Sydney

We are seeking an experienced, highly commercial Director, Country IT – Australia & New Zealand to lead and evolve our country IT landscape in close partnership with the Country Leadership Team and Group IT.

This is a pivotal senior leadership role, accountable for ensuring technology enables business performance, growth, and scalability across Australia and New Zealand.

The Role

You will have end‑to‑end accountability for all IT applications, infrastructure, services, and digital initiatives. Acting as the most senior IT representative in‑country, you will operate as a commercial business leader, translating business strategy into pragmatic, value‑driven technology outcomes.

Success in this role requires strong commercial judgement, excellent analytical and problem‑solving capability, and the ability to lead, influence, and challenge at executive level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted, commercially focused IT partner to the Country Leadership Team and senior stakeholders
• Lead all country IT operations, applications, services, and infrastructure in alignment with Group IT standards
• Provide senior ownership for SAP environments, ensuring stability, optimisation, and alignment with business needs
• Represent IT at country leadership forums, providing clear insight on priorities, risks, and investment trade‑offs
• Own and manage the country IT budget, ensuring cost discipline, transparency, and return on investment
• Lead and negotiate with vendors and strategic partners to deliver commercial and operational value
• Maintain strong governance across IT assets, security, compliance, and service delivery
• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing IT team across Australia and New Zealand

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience leading IT functions in complex or multinational environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Strong understanding of business operations, financial drivers, and enterprise processes
• Solid SAP knowledge, with experience overseeing SAP platforms in an enterprise environment
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a highly commercial IT leader, balancing cost, risk, and value creation
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills
• Experience partnering with Country Leadership Teams or executive‑level stakeholders
• Background working within a global or regional shared services IT model
• A confident, pragmatic leader who can influence, challenge, and lead through change
