Salary: $60,000-$70,000, non-negotiable outside of the range.
The IT Director will be responsible for leading, coordinating, & planning computer & system-related activities for Information Technology. This is an in-person position located in Huntington, WV, with the potential for flexible work from home options a couple days a week.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manages Information Technology departmental goals in support of the college’s Strategic Plan, Mission and Values
•Serves as the liaison between various constituent groups and the CIO, with a strong ability to adequately communicate issues, concerns, and resolutions.
•Strategically addresses issues across the College regarding IT concerns
•Effectively manages a team, including conducting annual performance evaluations
•Serve on various college committees to support the goals, mission, and values of the College.
•Oversee IT-related services including computer hardware and software, networking and telecommunications, printing, & classroom/instructional technology
•Plans and coordinates the installation, maintenance, support and upgrade of all workstations and printers in the classrooms and employee offices
•Monitor performance of IT systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
•Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services. Determine timeframes for system updates, upgrades, outages
•Ensure procedures and processes are in place for risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity. Includes conducting regular system audits to ensure compliance and security standards are met.
•Serves as a contact to outside vendors for proposals and contracts, to establish agreements and relationships related to information technology.
•Ensure cost effectiveness and work in line with the budget.
•Analyze technology needs within the college by partnering with team members and key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions
•Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
•Recommends strategies, priorities and projects that will best achieve the College’s strategic goals and objectives
•Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
•Maintains technical proficiency through certification programs
•Other duties and responsibilities as needed
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 4+ years of directly related work experience; OR Associate's degree in a related field with 6+ years of technical experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job responsibilities may be considered. Good customer service skills are required.
Licensure/Certification Required: Must have a valid driver’s license.
