Job Description

Lead the Future of Outpatient Imaging Services

ChristianaCare is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Outpatient Imaging to provide operational and administrative leadership for outpatient imaging services across our Pennsylvania locations. This leadership role is responsible for driving growth, optimizing performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing the patient experience across multiple imaging centers.

The Director will partner with clinical, operational, and physician leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support access, quality, operational excellence, and continued expansion of outpatient imaging services.

Operational Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership for outpatient imaging operations across multiple Pennsylvania locations
  • Ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of imaging services while maintaining a patient-centered focus
  • Oversee staffing, workflow, resource allocation, and operational performance across all outpatient imaging modalities
  • Partner with outpatient imaging leaders to support daily operations and achieve organizational goals

Strategic Growth & Business Development

  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans for ambulatory imaging services
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion, growth, and market differentiation
  • Collaborate on the development of marketing strategies that promote increased utilization and patient access
  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of new programs, services, and operational initiatives

Financial Management

  • Direct responsibility for financial performance of outpatient imaging services
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization
  • Support sustainable growth while maintaining strong operational and financial outcomes

Quality, Compliance & Performance Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards, including Joint Commission readiness
  • Co-lead performance improvement initiatives that advance quality, safety, service excellence, and operational effectiveness
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to achieve departmental objectives
  • Report performance outcomes and improvement initiatives to senior leadership

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Foster strong partnerships with physicians, operational leaders, and administrative teams across the health system
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop and implement best practices that improve patient care and operational outcomes
  • Provide leadership and guidance related to workforce planning, employee engagement, and talent development
  • Conduct regular meetings with imaging leadership and administrative teams to communicate priorities, goals, and organizational initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • ARRT certification in one or more imaging modalities
  • At least five years of leadership or management experience within medical imaging
  • At least three years of clinical experience in medical imaging
  • Demonstrated success leading complex operations, strategic initiatives, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, and operational planning experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards within healthcare imaging services

Preferred Qualifications

  • AART certification in MRI or CT preferred
  • State licensure, where applicable
  • Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential, or willingness to obtain within two years of hire
  • Experience managing multisite outpatient imaging operations

Annual Compensation Range $135,720.00 - $217,172.80This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
