Join a dynamic, fast-paced organization where people are at the center of success. As Director, HR Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in aligning people strategy with business goals across a leading digital marketing agency. Reporting to the President of iCrossing and the Chief People Officer of Hearst Magazines, this role offers a unique opportunity to drive culture, leadership development, and operational excellence.

About the Team

We’re a professional services company at the intersection of marketing and technology — partnering with ambitious brands to solve complex challenges, accelerate growth, and drive performance. Our integrated teams combine strategic insight, creative execution, data fluency, and technical expertise.

We believe our biggest asset is our combination of different backgrounds, cultures, and disciplines that come together to form the iCrossing community. What we do starts with our people.

We are part of the Hearst Corporation, the world’s leading media, entertainment, and content company, which gives us access to the most valuable data and insights, talent, and audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and senior leaders, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Lead workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning to support both short- and long-term goals.
  • Design and implement talent development programs that enhance leadership capability and professional growth.
  • Partner with managers to identify skill gaps and craft learning strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Champion a culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee engagement, inclusion, and wellbeing across all levels of the organization.
  • Execute core HR operations including onboarding, employee relations, reporting, and process optimization.
  • Utilize people data and analytics to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as Talent Acquisition to ensure a cohesive employee experience.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within professional services or digital marketing.
  • Proven success in HR business partnering, talent development, and operational HR.
  • Strong understanding of how business operations intersect with people strategy.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Hybrid schedule: two days per week in our New York City office.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • We also offer a competitive benefits package that includes:
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Flexible Spending & Health Savings Accounts
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
  • Parental Leave
  • Employee assistance program and other company benefits

The base salary for this role is between $150,000 - $200,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
