Job Description

Men are dying too young – and it doesn’t have to be that way.

Around the world, men are facing a health crisis: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and suicide. At Movember we’re on a mission to change the face of men’s health by making it easier for men to talk, act and live longer healthier lives.

Every project, every campaign, every idea adds up to real change. You’ll be part of a purpose-fueled crew who believe making an impact and having fun should go hand in hand. Your mission is calling.

DO GOOD. Work for Movember.

Your Mo-Mission (should you choose to accept it):

As Director, Health Systems (UK and Ireland), you will lead the strategic delivery of Movember's Health Systems portfolio across two of our most important and distinct markets. This is a foundational, senior leadership role, and the first dedicated Health Systems hire covering the UK and Ireland, meaning you will be building presence, partnerships, and infrastructure from the ground up.

Your mission is to make healthcare more responsive for men. The Health Systems portfolio exists to strengthen the knowledge and capability of health systems and healthcare professionals to better engage with men's health, driving meaningful, systemic change across primary care and mental health settings. You will be the senior accountable lead for this work across both countries, responsible for translating global portfolio strategy into market-specific delivery that creates lasting impact.

In the UK, you will lead the localisation and scale-up of Men in Mind, our evidence-based training programme equipping healthcare professionals with the skills to engage men more effectively. You will forge strategic partnerships with NHS organisations, Integrated Care Systems, Primary Care Networks, Royal Colleges, universities, and government departments, and represent Movember at healthcare forums, sector convenings, and policy discussions. You will lead systems mapping and implementation research, drive health literacy campaigns, and spearhead policy advocacy to embed gender-responsive approaches across the NHS and primary care system. Staying close to NHS priorities and the evolving UK healthcare policy landscape will be central to how you work.

In Ireland, you will build on genuine government interest and strong strategic alignment between Men in Mind and national men's health priorities, including the Healthy Ireland Men's Action Plan and the growing infrastructure of counselling and mental health services targeting men. Working closely with the HSE National Men's Health Programme, you will lead the phased introduction and rollout of Men in Mind in Ireland, engaging Irish professional bodies, healthcare organisations, and research institutions to test, evaluate, and scale the programme in priority settings.

Across both markets, you will oversee program evaluation and impact measurement, manage budgets, identify co-funding and partnership opportunities to support long-term sustainability, and report to global leadership and the Movember Board. You will work closely with global portfolio colleagues, the Movember Institute of Men's Health, and the broader UK and Ireland country teams to ensure everything you deliver is grounded in evidence, aligned with Movember's Impact Framework, and shaped by the communities we exist to serve.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a portfolio from its earliest stages, in markets where the conditions for genuine, systemic change in men's health have never been better.

No Moustache Required - but the following are:

  • A degree in a health-related field such as public health, health services, health policy, or psychology

  • Significant leadership experience managing health programs within the UK or Irish healthcare system

  • A strong understanding of the UK healthcare landscape, including NHS structures, Integrated Care Systems, and Primary Care Networks

  • Demonstrated experience building and managing strategic partnerships with healthcare organisations, government, and/or universities

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex evidence for diverse audiences including policymakers, healthcare professionals, and the public

  • Experience managing program budgets and reporting to senior leadership and governance bodies

  • A genuine interest in men's health and the systemic barriers men face in accessing care

Not Mission Critical - but for extra bonus points:

  • Direct expertise in health professional education, primary care, mental health, health systems research, or implementation science

  • Hands-on experience working with or within the NHS on workforce development, quality improvement, or system reform initiatives

  • Experience in policy advocacy or government relations within the UK or Irish health sector

  • Familiarity with accreditation and CPD frameworks for UK healthcare professionals, including Royal Colleges and NHS England

  • Knowledge of the Irish health system, the HSE, the Healthy Ireland Men's Action Plan, and the relevant Irish professional landscape

  • Prior experience working in or with the charity or not-for-profit sector

GOOD CAUSE:

Working for Movember, you’ll help turn ideas (and moustaches) into millions for men’s health. Every bit we raise changes the face of men’s health by funding research, improving treatments, and supporting programs that help save lives.

We’re even shaping government policies on men’s health worldwide. By meeting directly with lawmakers, and helping them understand how more investment on men’s health benefits not just men, but all the communities they serve.

GOOD VIBES:

We love weekends. That’s why our Fridays finish early for nine months of the year. But we also love our office vibe. Because here, it always feels like something big is about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake!) or an open invite for all to hit the pub.

Come the hairy season, the energy cranks up. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. But, for those who prefer calm, no probs: hybrid working means you work where you feel best.

GOOD CREW:

Spoiler alert: we’re a no-ego, all-impact crew. That means everyone gets a say, from new starters to those leading the charge. Collaboration over hierarchies, curiosity over rigid process. And it’s true across all our offices worldwide. We work as one, sharing expertise and celebrating wins. All in the name of making the biggest impact across the globe. United, we Mo.

We offer:

  • Hybrid/Flexible working – we offer our team a split of home and office working

  • 13 weeks paid Parental Leave and 6 weeks annual leave

  • Health Cash Plan – to support the costs of everyday healthcare needs (dental, optical, wellbeing)

  • An Employee Assistance Programme offering face to face counselling, plus legal and financial support

  • A fun stimulating and collaborating culture, with company events

  • Service awards after 3, 5 and 10 year

  • Committees to join – Culture team, Equity Diversity & Inclusion

  • Bike to work scheme

  • Half day Fridays for 9 months of the year

Being different is how we started. And it’s also helped us raise $1 billion for men’s health. So, we know the power of diverse experiences, skills and perspectives.

Movember is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and workplace - a place where we can all be ourselves, and each have the equal opportunity to succeed and be recognised for our unique contribution. We value the experiences, skills and perspectives of all individuals and actively encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds. We make recruitment decisions based on applicants’ skills, experience and knowledge, ensuring all applicants are treated fairly.

Do you want to DO GOOD?
If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About Movember

Since 2003, Movember has built a global men’s health movement, funding more than 1,300 projects around the world, challenging the status quo,

shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men. Movember has taken on three of the biggest health

issues affecting men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide.

Movember has:

▪ Invested almost $350 million in over 600 biomedical research projects, focusing on prostate and testicular cancer.

▪ Funded 4 prostate cancer registries, with over 200,000 men enrolled from 23 countries.

▪ Supported interventions designed to assist and guide men through the prostate cancer journey, offering them resources and information so

that they are empowered to make their own decisions, manage symptoms and share lived experiences.

▪ Since taking on mental health and suicide as a cause area in 2006, Movember has united experts, funded bold new approaches and embraced

fresh perspectives. We’ve focused on prevention, early intervention, and health promotion through a male lens.

Movember is for everyone, not just for men. We are a health movement and our invitation to take part is open to everyone. We champion healthcare that

is sensitive to the needs of everyone, including men, so that everyone benefits. And we have a strong focus on how improving men's health can have a

profoundly positive impact on women, families, and society as a whole.

But we lead the charge in encouraging men to adopt healthy behaviours, challenging health systems and confronting gender norms to reduce health

inequalities and save more lives. To donate or learn more, please visit Movember.com.
