Our mission is to assist our customers in their business strategies utilizing their data to make more intelligent decisions. As a well-funded early-stage startup, Gruve offers a dynamic environment with strong customer and partner networks.

About the Role

The Director, Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will play a key role in shaping Gruve’s financial strategy and supporting the company’s continued growth. This role will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting across multiple business units and countries, providing leadership with clear, actionable insights to drive business performance and profitability.

As a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team, the Director will translate complex financial data into meaningful recommendations, support strategic planning and resource allocation, and establish scalable financial planning processes. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, sound business judgment, and experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment, with the ability to influence decisions and align financial performance with Gruve’s long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual operating plan and budget process, working with business unit leaders across the US, India, and APAC.
  • Own monthly and quarterly forecasting for revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount, and cash.
  • Build and maintain the company's financial model, including scenario and sensitivity analysis for growth, pricing, and investment decisions.
  • Deliver monthly management reporting and variance analysis (budget vs. forecast vs. actuals), with clear explanations of what drove the results.
  • Prepare financial materials for the CFO, CEO, board of directors, and investors, including board decks and fundraising support.
  • Track and report key business metrics such as bookings, revenue by business line, customer profitability, and unit economics.
  • Partner with sales, delivery, and engineering leaders on pricing, deal profitability, and resource planning for services and AI infrastructure offerings.
  • Own headcount and compensation planning with HR, including salary increase and bonus budgets.
  • Support multi-currency, multi-entity planning across Gruve's international subsidiaries.
  • Build, lead, and mentor the FP&A team, and improve planning tools, processes, and controls as the company scales.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or corporate finance, including at least 3 years leading a team.
  • Proven track record owning budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for a growing company.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience presenting financial results and recommendations to executives and boards.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results to non-finance leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a professional finance certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), is preferred.
  • Experience at a venture-backed technology, IT services, or SaaS company.
  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency planning, especially across the US and India.
  • Hands-on experience with planning tools (such as Adaptive, Anaplan, or Pigment) and ERP systems such as NetSuite.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, due diligence, or M&A.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position varies by location:

  • New Jersey: $175,000–$220,000 per year
  • Texas (Dallas, Houston, or Austin): $160,000–$205,000 per year

The final compensation offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and work location.
