At a time of rapid market evolution, account consolidation, increasing account influence and a shift in the definition of value in the oncology marketplace, Pfizer Oncology has built a leading customer and channel management function supporting the Oncology Accounts Group and the National Accounts Team. The Pfizer Oncology portfolio has grown significantly and includes market-leading breast cancer and prostate cancer medicines, emerging market leadership in bladder and blood cancers, a leading portfolio of precision medicines with complex diagnostic challenges, and a mix of oral and IV products with very complex but different distribution and provider cost recovery dynamics.

National Accounts customers, primarily community oncology, contribute approximately half of Pfizer Oncology US revenue. This colleague will possess & apply a thorough understanding of our product portfolio, customers’ aligned business priorities and how both are being impacted by oncology market evolution to support effective customer and channel engagement strategies and tactics.

The Director GPO and Strategic Accounts Oncology will be a key member of the Oncology organization focused on customer and channel strategy, management of the GPO and third-party vendors budget and execute in support of the full portfolio of products. The Director will also work cross functionally with the brands to develop KPIs that will drive future strategic planning decisions.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Serve as the headquarters liaison for the National Accounts team, aligning with Sales, Marketing, OAG, Contracting, PA, KAD, and CKAD stakeholders to develop and execute a cohesive national account strategy across a significant amount in total strategic spend.

  • Partner with the National Accounts Director, Customer & Channel Management on budgeting, tactical planning, and execution recommendations in collaboration with NADs and brand teams. Programming includes, but is not limited to, podium presentations, physician roundtables, conferences, and other GPO strategic programming.

  • Work cross-functionally with GPOs such as ION, Unity, and VitalSource, as well as third-party vendors such as Aptitude Health and Cornerstone.

  • Develop subject matter expertise in oncology market dynamics and the community oncology business model; lead continuous education for HQ colleagues, KADs, and other customer-facing colleagues on evolving patient care dynamics.

Promotional Spend & Budget Management

  • Actively manage National Accounts budget, within an overall larger marketing spend, in tactical promotional spend supporting GPO account activities, ensuring timely and well-executed promotional programming that eliminates access barriers between sales colleagues and customers.

  • Manage to quarterly forecasts; ensure departmental adherence to budget with rigorous project management.

Strategic Initiative Execution

  • Design and lead an end-to-end model for strategic GPO initiatives and tactical implementation, covering intake, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, execution planning, governance, internal communications, KPI tracking, and post-initiative readouts.

  • Leverage the initiative model to provide timely updates and inform strategy discussions with Pfizer stakeholders, communicating how National Accounts engages, executes, and scales across the portfolio.

  • Support a disciplined execution model for community oncology customer programs, promotional efforts, and HQ-led initiatives.

Performance & Compliance

  • Develop and track KPIs and performance metrics in partnership with analytics teams to assess tactical effectiveness and inform future investment decisions.

  • Ensure full compliance with all operating SOPs, promotional guidelines, and governance standards.

Operational & Leadership Support

  • Support the National Accounts Team Lead and OAG Lead on project-based work, including Operating Plan development, National and Regional Meeting preparation, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Deliver national accounts customer promotional and programmatic opportunities to brand teams, serving as a connector between field execution and headquarters strategy.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 7+ years of channel management, strategic/operations planning, analytics/modeling, and/or marketing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CPA preferred

  • Track record of strong performance, teamwork, and creativity

  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Acts decisively.

  • Demonstrated execution and project management skills, with an ability to work very proactively and under tight timelines.

  • Teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from multiple functional areas

  • Strong leadership experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.

Preferred

  • Experience in the oncology marketplace

  • Experience in account management or account management support functions

  • Managed care or customer strategy experience and an in-depth understanding of the healthcare market

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
