Job Description

This is an individual contributor position providing government affairs support ADM’s operations in Indonesia and Singapore, with Indonesia being the primary focus. It is responsible for driving advocacy effort to address business issues across all ADM business segments including Nutrition, Carbohydrate Solutions and Ag Services & Oil Seeds, as well as to influence policy developments in these areas. The position will:

• Advance ADM’s policy and business priorities with key government stakeholders on ADM’s business to help position ADM as a partner of choice. Develop a government relations strategy to support these efforts.
• Plan, develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans to sustain relationships with relevant stakeholders by providing information, data, and/or serving as a resource on our sector and business.
• Work with business partners and functional groups to manage business related issues requiring engagement with government officials, regulators, policymakers, associations and/or other relevant stakeholders.

To achieve this, the successful candidate must be experienced in working with both government and MNCs, and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and issue management skills.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate advocacy and serve as point of contact for internal stakeholders on policy related to agriculture, trade, energy/biofuels, and human and animal nutrition issues.
• Work with business segments and internal experts to: identify issues, frame business impacts and provide strategic analysis, develop issue management plans and positions, develop and execute advocacy plans, and provide proactive updates to assess risks and opportunities in the operating landscape.
• Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans to establish key external relationships, and leverage these relationships support advocacy on aforementioned issues.
• Represent ADM at external conferences and meetings, and position ADM as the partner of choice for key stakeholders including government and trade associations.
• Work with business partners to manage trade association relations, provide strategic direction to association participation.
• Help track political and policy developments and translate them into actionable intelligence for business colleagues.
• Other government related support determined by business needs.

Your Profile

• Established stakeholder network in Indonesia with government and trade associations related to foreign investment, agriculture and trade.
• Bachelor degree or above with 10 - 15 years of work experience, with minimum 10 years with government or GR related functions in MNCs or PR firms.
• Experience in agriculture and food industries is a plus.
• Advanced expertise in issue management, advocacy, and association management.
• Experience in problem solving when regulatory or related issues arise, including proactive identification, framing, and strategy development to address the risk or opportunity.
• Ability to credibly explain complex policy issues to internal stakeholders and ADM business to government officials.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, analytical, collaboration, and cultural skills.
• Proven ability to proactively manage complex portfolio, deadlines, and executive visits.
• High ethical standards, personal integrity, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and strategic thinking.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa
