About this role

The primary role for this position is to provide engineering leadership and oversight for Carrier Water-Cooled Screw and Scroll engineering around the globe. The responsibilities include new product development with winning differentiations and competitive performance, reliability serviceability and costs. New technology insertion, global design, commonality, complexity reduction, and engineering effectiveness are also among the key areas that the role will drive for continued improvements. The role will ensure on time, on spec and on budget new product launches by working with Program Managers, engineering and cross functional leads. A successful lead is also expected to have solid communication and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall new product development ownership and leadership in global water-cooled screw and scroll engineering globally.
• Work closely with engineering, product management, program management, supply chain, operations, and stakeholders in ensuring on time, on spec and on budget new product launches.
• Work closely with engineering leads and colleagues globally in leveraging knowledge, experience, and good practices for global design, commonality and complexity reduction.
• Continue developing engineering expertise and bandwidth with resources in various engineering centers to support timely new product launches.
• Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
• Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements to processes.
• Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes required to comply with regulations and customer needs.
• Manages clear, concise and results oriented communications with diverse stakeholders, employees, customers, and suppliers

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
• 10+ years of experience in a design center or a commercial production environment
• 8+ years of experience leading teams

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical or Electrical
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• New product development in HVAC industry experience preferred
• Product design in a global manufacturing environment
