DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Director, Global SecurityAPAC+China, locatedin Suzhou, Jiangsu, China

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business toestablisha standalone orthopedics company,operatingas DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation isanticipatedto be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may berequired, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The Director, Global SecurityAPAC+Chinaprovides senior leadership for security strategy, operations, and risk management across theAsiaPacificregion, whichincludesChina This roleis responsible forprotecting employees, assets, products, and information while enabling business growth in complex and diverse markets. The position plays a critical role in shaping regional security strategy, managing geopolitical and operational risks, and partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the APAC and China security strategy in alignment with global securityobjectivesand business priorities.

  • Oversee physical security, travel security, crisis management, and incident response across APAC markets.

  • Through support of intelligence, assess and mitigate regional security risks, including geopolitical, operational, and site‑specific threats.

  • Serve as the primary security advisor to regional leadership, providing risk insights and strategic guidance.

  • Lead and develop regional security teams and external security partners.

  • Establish governance, standards, and metrics to ensure consistent security practices across the region.

  • Partner with Legal, HR, Supply Chain, IT, and Business leaders to support secure operations and business continuity.

  • Manage investigations,executive protection,security incidents, and crisis response activities, including coordination with local authorities whenrequired

  • Support transformation, separation, and change initiativesimpactingsecurity operations in APAC and China.

  • Manage regional security budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business, Criminal Justice, International Relations, ora relatedfield (required).

  • Master’s degree or advanced professional education (preferred).

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Typically12+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, risk management, or related leadership roles.

  • Proven experience leading regional or global security programs, preferably across APAC and China.

  • Strong understanding of geopolitical risk, crisis management, and security operations in complex markets.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders andoperateeffectively in a matrixed organization.

  • Experience managing third‑party security providers and external stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership, judgment, and decision‑making capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Experience supporting large‑scale transformations or business separations.

  • Familiarity with regulatory, cultural, and operational considerations across APAC and China.

  • Experience implementing global security standards and governance models.

  • Background in investigations, intelligence, or risk analysis.

Other:

  • Language: Englishproficiencyrequired; Mandarin or other APAC languages preferred.

  • Travel: Up to 25–30% international travel across APAC and China.

  • Certifications: Professional security or risk certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) preferred.
