Owns global logistics execution strategy and performance management across transportation modes and lanes. Establishes carrier / forwarder / broker governance to improve service, reliability, and cost-to-serve outcomes. Ensures logistics controls support shipment integrity and GDP-aligned documentation expectations in partnership with Quality and Trade / Compliance. Leads disruption management and contingency planning for high-risk lanes and temperature-controlled shipments. Maintains lane dashboards and improvement initiatives to reduce exceptions and improve predictability.

Key Responsibilities

Carrier / Forwarder Governance & Performance

  • Run carrier / forwarder governance cadence, manage lane performance dashboards and improvement plans
  • Drive cost-to-serve management and service reliability improvements through lane strategy and partner accountability
  • Produce deliverables such as carrier scorecards, lane dashboards, and cost / service trade-off recommendations

Shipment Controls & Audit Readiness

  • Ensure logistics processes and documentation controls support GDP expectations and shipment integrity requirements
  • Partner with Quality / Compliance on audit readiness, findings remediation, and SOP / training alignment
  • Produce deliverables such as shipment documentation standards, deviation / exception logs, and audit response evidence

Disruption Response & Contingency Planning

  • Lead disruption response and contingency planning for high-risk lanes, coordinate recovery actions and escalation
  • Maintain contingency playbooks and ensure partner readiness for triggers and response expectations
  • Produce deliverables such as contingency playbooks, disruption after-action reviews, and recovery action trackers

Required Qualifications

  • BS+ (Supply Chain, Business, or related)
  • 12–15 years global logistics experience, including carrier / forwarder governance and disruption management
  • Strong analytical capability for lane performance and cost / service trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical / biotech logistics and GDP-aligned distribution environments (preferred)
  • Temperature-controlled logistics and complex global lane network management experience

Key Competencies

  • Transportation / lane management, carrier / forwarder governance, and cost-to-serve optimization, performance dashboards and KPIs
  • Disruption response, contingency planning, and recovery execution, escalation timing, and decision trade-offs
  • GDP awareness, documentation controls, and audit readiness partnering with Quality and Compliance
  • Partner governance and performance management across logistics providers, service reliability, and exception reduction
  • Cross-functional leadership, escalation, and executive-ready risk / decision communication
