About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Director to lead our Global Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC) based in Pune, India.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end global service delivery of core finance processes, including:

  • Record-to-Report (R2R)
  • Lead-to-Cash (L2C)
  • Procure-to-Pay / Accounts Payable (AP)

In addition, the role holds regional accountability for APAC across:

  • Tax and compliance
  • Credit management
  • Payroll services

The Director will ensure the efficient, compliant, and scalable delivery of shared finance services worldwide, while driving continuous improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives.

This position requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across global finance and business functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Service Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the global delivery of R2R, L2C, and AP processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Refine and deliver on the globally standardized service delivery model, including SLAs and KPIs
  • Transform the organization from transactional shared services to a value-driven, insight-led GBS function
  • Drive standardization of processes, policies, and systems across regions
  • Lead digital transformation (automation, analytics, AI, workflow tools) to modernize finance operations
  • Shape the long-term GBS operating model (location strategy, governance, service catalog)

2. APAC Regional Accountability

  • Oversee APAC service delivery for:
    • Tax compliance (direct & indirect taxes, statutory filings)
    • Payroll operations and governance
    • Credit management and working capital optimization
  • Ensure full compliance with local regulatory and statutory requirements across APAC
  • Act as key escalation point for regional stakeholders

3. Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Drive continuous improvement and automation across all FSSC processes (e.g., standardization, digitalization, robotics)
  • Partner with Finance Transformation and IT teams to implement next-generation finance processes and systems
  • Optimize cost-to-serve while improving quality and cycle times
  • Establish a data-driven culture using KPIs, dashboards, and performance analytics

4. Leadership & Organization Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global shared services organization
  • Create clear governance structures across Tier 1 / Tier 2 delivery models
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and retention strategies
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary interface between FSSC and:
    • Group Finance
    • Regional finance teams
    • Business units and corporate functions (HR, Tax, IT, Legal)
  • Influence senior stakeholders to adopt global standards and transformation initiatives
  • Ensure alignment between FSSC delivery and business priorities

6. Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with group policies and global frameworks
  • Maintain adherence to:
    • IFRS and group accounting policies
    • Internal control frameworks (e.g., J-SOX where applicable)
    • Local statutory and tax regulations
  • Manage audit relationships (internal and external) for FSSC scope

7. Financial & Performance Management

  • Own the FSSC budget and cost base
  • Drive efficiency programs to optimize cost performance
  • Monitor service quality through defined KPIs
  • Deliver measurable improvements in working capital and service quality

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 18+ years of experience in finance, including senior roles in GBS / Shared Services / Finance Transformation
  • Proven experience managing global finance operations (R2R, L2C, P2P)
  • Strong understanding of APAC regulatory, tax, and payroll environments
  • Demonstrated success in finance transformation and process standardization
  • Experience in multinational, matrix organizations
