The Director of Global Business Development for the Stainless Steel and Hybrid Equipment Business Unit is a senior leadership role responsible for driving global revenue growth through strategic customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will develop and execute global commercial strategies, identify new market opportunities, and build strong relationships with major biopharmaceutical clients. The position will play a critical role in positioning ABEC as the partner of choice for complex bioprocess equipment solutions.

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a global business development strategy aligned with Business Unit growth objectives.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within target markets and accounts.
  • Drive pipeline development, lead qualification, and conversion of strategic opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform strategic direction.

Customer Engagement & Account Growth

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders within key global biopharmaceutical and biotech companies.
  • Expand ABEC’s footprint within existing customers through cross-selling and upselling of products.
  • Lead customer engagement strategies for large, complex, multi-site opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers on equipment and process solutions.

Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and support global sales efforts for stainless steel and hybrid solutions.
  • Collaborate with other Business Units to drive alignment and execution of global strategies.
  • Own and deliver on revenue growth targets, bookings, and margin objectives.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure successful deal closure.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure alignment between customer needs and delivery capabilities.
  • Provide market feedback to inform product development and innovation roadmap.
  • Collaborate on proposals, pricing strategies, and solution positioning.

Leadership & Representation

  • Represent the Business Unit at industry events, conferences, and key customer meetings.
  • Contribute to leadership team decisions on strategic initiatives and market positioning.
  • Mentor and guide business development and sales team members as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial leadership within the biopharmaceutical or process equipment industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and winning large, complex deals.
  • Experience with bioprocess equipment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and industry dynamics.
  • Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization.

  • Remote work: This is an ABEC office-based role with some flexibility for remote work
