Directs and manages initiatives associated with the applicable technical functions of gas operations across Indiana. Establishes clear strategies across areas including resource allocation, damage prevention, safety, customer initiatives, employee development, mentoring, and coaching. Ensures efforts are in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory requirements while delivering safe, reliable service in an efficient and economical manner.
Essential Functions

Drives consistent execution of the Core Four Responsibilities, ensuring employees follow established processes and procedures, identify and report risks, continuously improve operations, and proactively prevent operational failures.
Promotes risk awareness by soliciting input, initiating safety conversations, and encouraging use of the Corrective Action Program.
Leads routine engagement forums (e.g., daily or weekly huddles) to share information, reinforce expectations, and ensure understanding.
Reinforces safety behaviors through ongoing communication, feedback, and habit-forming practices.
Ensures adherence to safety standards and achievement of safety performance goals.
Accountable for employee safety and for driving improved safety outcomes through culture, policies, training, and procedures.
Uses metrics, benchmarks, and employee input to inform safety culture initiatives and continuous improvement.
Provides direction and oversight for the Fiberglass Riser Program and Cross Bore Program.
Responsible for execution of the NIPSCO Gas Leak Survey.
Leads and supports special projects and initiatives, including FMCA project tracking.
Ensures execution of required work, processes, training, and communications in alignment with operational standards.
Supports and enhances customer service to drive top tier satisfaction and brand reputation.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Builds and fosters high employee engagement and positive labor relations.
Champions a performance based culture through accountability, coaching, recognition, and rewards.
Partners across the organization to reinforce safe behaviors and operational consistency.
Accountable for the effective and productive use of capital and O&M resources.
Manages approved budgets and adjusts plans as required to support operational needs.
Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical, engineering or business discipline; or high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of gas/electric utility experience with a least 5 years of experience leading utility operations functions is required, regardless of education level.
Demonstrated experience managing and developing leaders, including supervisors and/or managers, within an operational environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of the philosophy and process of Continuous Improvement High
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
Experience providing oversight, leadership, and direction in the overall management of Gas Operations. High
Valid driver’s license

Experience in managing one or more of the following functions: operations, measurement, regulation, corrosion, leakage
Familiarity with NIPSCO’s Capital and O&M budgeting processes High
