This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

HarbourVest Partners is seeking a Director on the Fund Accounting & Administration team to be responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, valuation oversight, and operational administration of Credit and ELTIF Sub Funds under Part II SICAV umbrella regulated by the CSSF.

The Director will lead all aspects of NAV calculation and oversight, financial statement oversight, regulatory reporting, fund administration oversight, and coordination with internal and external collaborators. This individual will serve as a key liaison with fund administrators, auditors, legal counsel, and internal partners to ensure the highest standards of financial reporting, valuation governance, regulatory compliance, and investor servicing.

The ideal candidate is someone who has:

  • Deep knowledge of Lux GAAP and/or comparable accounting basis its application to investment companies operating as semi-liquid and private wealth vehicles.
  • Extensive experience supervising NAV calculation, valuation processes, and fund accounting operations performed by third-party administrators.
  • Experience working with AIFM, valuation committees, auditors, custodians, transfer agents, lenders and fund administrators.
  • Shown leadership skills that enable building, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Experience with direct credit and credit secondary portfolios, NAV oversight and financial reporting.


What you will do:

  • Coordinate NAV production and review processes for regulated investment funds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established valuation policies and procedures.
  • Handle relationships with third-party fund administrators and service providers responsible for fund accounting, transfer agency, custody, and shareholder servicing functions.
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting deliverables, including portfolio reconciliations, expense accruals, income recognition, and shareholder activity.
  • Coordinate and review filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and present financial, operational, valuation, and compliance reporting materials to fund boards and board committees.
  • Lead valuation oversight activities, including review of fair value determinations and coordination with valuation committees and external valuation providers.
  • Partner with portfolio management, operations, legal, compliance, treasury, investor relations, and tax teams to support fund operations and critical initiatives.
  • Coordinate annual audits and regulatory examinations, serving as the primary contact for auditors and regulators.
  • Design, enhance, and monitor internal controls and operational procedures supporting financial reporting, NAV production, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements in execution, technology solutions, and scalability initiatives across fund accounting and administration functions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team dedicated to semi-liquid wealth product fund accounting and administration activities.
  • Support product launches, fund restructurings, and other central initiatives impacting registered and regulated investment vehicles.

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience, required.
  • ACA or equivalent preferred.


Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, audit, or financial reporting within the asset management industry.
  • Experience supporting semi-liquid and wealth products.
  • Proven experience supervising monthly and daily NAV processes and third-party fund administrators.
