The Director, Fund Accounting will manage a team or teams in a high growth area of SEI. This individual will be responsible for leading relationships with clients and contributing materially to the direction that the Fund Accounting function takes locally and more broadly across the organization. Candidates must have a strong understanding of Alternative Fund structures and the ability to design and drive efficient, scalable processes. This role reports directly to the Managing Director.

What you’ll do:

  • Together with the Managing Director, determine strategy for the Fund Accounting department in line with overall unit strategy and business plan

  • Drive business objectives and goals to meet and achieve the desired target operating model

  • Ensure controls and utilisation of available technology is fit for purpose, scalable and is mitigating business risk

  • Control the client service narrative by proactively managing emerging risks and owning operational change. Provide thought leadership to clients as new business opportunities and complexities arise

  • Contribute to the sales strategy by acting as a subject matter expert for Fund Accounting matters

  • Review Fund documents in advance of new fund launches; identify and highlight potential operational issues and risks

  • Continually evaluate processes and procedures to ensure that changes in the technological infrastructure are being adopted

  • Foster strong working relationships across departments and locations so that best practice is shared and inter functional initiatives work optimally

  • Coach, develop and motivate direct reports and the broader team base

  • Drive and lead strategic project initiatives

What you will bring to the table:

  • 15+ years’ experience in operations with in-depth knowledge of Fund accounting, private markets and Hedge.

  • 5+ years senior management / management experience in Private Equity

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Proven track record in strategic thinking and leadership

  • Strong knowledge of Alternative Fund structures, Fund domiciles, regulatory requirements and Fund fee calculations

  • Demonstrable relationship building skills both internally and externally and across all levels

  • Ability to execute change and continually challenge accepted norms

  • Solutions focused with strong attention to detail

  • Strong data management skills
