Our Canadian Operational Risk and Resilience team has an exciting opportunity, and we are looking for a director – Fraud Risk, Integrity & Security.

As fraud continues to evolve in scale, sophistication, and impact, effective fraud risk management is a critical priority for financial services organizations. This role is a 2nd Line of Defence role responsible for performing independent oversight and challenge to ensure fraud risks are identified, measured, mitigated, monitored, and reported across the Canadian business segment. In addition, this role will take on expanded oversight responsibilities for certain integrity and security practices, ensuring controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively to meet evolving supervisory expectations and to manage risks.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Operational Risk and Resilience, this role plays a key advisory and oversight function, partnering closely with 1st Line business and functional teams, as well as other 2nd Line stakeholders, to promote a strong fraud risk culture, proactive integrity and security posture, and promote effective risk management practices.

This role will also provide opportunities to take on oversight responsibilities for other operational risks, including Physical Security Risk, reflecting the interconnected nature of fraud, integrity, security, and other operational risks.

The successful candidate will provide independent challenge, governance, thought leadership, and insightful reporting to senior management and risk committees.

What You Will Do:

• Perform 2nd Line independent oversight and challenge of 1st Line fraud risk management processes, controls, and remediation activities
• Coordinate with 1st and 2nd Line stakeholders to embed an integrity and security lens within operational risk and business processes, controls, and remediation activities
• Perform independent monitoring of compliance with the Fraud Risk Management Policy, Fraud Risk Operating Standard, and Integrity and Security Standard
• Partner with 1st Line stakeholders to promote a strong risk culture, providing training, guidance and support in the development and maturation of fraud risk management processes and integrity and security practices
• Review and report on internal and external trends, current and emerging risks, and risk profiles for fraud, integrity and security, proactively recommending enhancements to framework and risk management activities
• Provide subject matter expertise and independent advice on fraud risk and certain integrity and security matters, including supporting incident response and enterprise risk management programs and assessments, such as Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), initiative and change assessments, internal and external loss events, and issues management processes
• Oversee reporting to provide clear and concise risk insights for senior management and risk committees
• Partner with 2nd Line stakeholders, including global Operational Risk and Resilience and other risk SMEs, to drive continuous enhancement of risk frameworks, contribute to updates to risk appetite, and strengthen reporting and oversight processes

What You Will Bring:

• Post‑secondary education or equivalent experience, preferably in business, risk management, finance, or compliance disciplines
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in financial services or a regulated environment with accountability for operational risk
• Experience in Fraud Risk Management, Financial Crime, Integrity and Security or related disciplines within a 1st or 2nd Line of Defence role
• Experience with Physical Security Risk is valuable
• Experience engaging with regulators (e.g., OSFI) is valuable
• Demonstrated experience designing or enhancing risk management programs and processes, including risk identification, measurement, management, monitoring, reporting, and oversight
• Strong understanding of risk management, control environments, and governance structures with ability to identify patterns, connections, and root causes across complex environments
• Experience providing independent challenge and stakeholder advisory at senior levels
• Ability to evaluate policies, processes, and systems to identify risk and control gaps and propose pragmatic solutions that consider downstream impacts and cross-functional implications
• Proven strength in building relationships, influencing outcomes, and navigating complexity across diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Copilot)

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London.

The base salary for this position is between $128,200 - $178,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
