Job Description

The Director Finance, Planning and Performance is a senior leadership role within the NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA), responsible for delivering integrated financial, risk, procurement, commercial and performance services that enable effective service delivery across the organisation.

This role provides critical, evidence-based advice to the Executive, CEO and Minister, ensuring strong financial stewardship, robust governance and transparency of public funds. You will lead enterprise-wide planning, reporting and performance frameworks, while strengthening commercial capability and ensuring compliance with NSW Government policy and legislative requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead integrated finance, planning and performance functions, driving strong financial stewardship, governance and organisational outcomes

  • Oversee strategic and business planning, aligning budgets, performance and reporting to enable transparency and informed decision-making

  • Provide expert, evidence-based advice across finance, risk, procurement and commercial matters to support Executive and Ministerial priorities

  • Drive robust risk, compliance and procurement frameworks, ensuring value-for-money outcomes and alignment with NSW Government requirements

  • Build strong relationships with NSW Treasury and key stakeholders to deliver coordinated, whole-of-government outcomes

About You

You are a highly capable finance and strategy leader with experience operating in complex, high-accountability environments. You bring strong commercial acumen, strategic insight and a track record of delivering integrated financial and performance outcomes.

We are looking for a leader with:

  • Demonstrated experience in senior finance, strategy or commercial leadership roles, ideally within government or a large, complex organisation

  • Strong knowledge of public sector financial management, budgeting, reporting, procurement and governance frameworks

  • Proven ability to lead enterprise planning, performance and risk functions

  • Experience managing procurement and commercial activities, including contract and vendor management

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to operate at Executive level

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government.
