Director - FinanceEffectively administers and controls all financial transactions and internal controls of the District through leadership and ethical practice, directly ensures timely and accurate cash management practices, and manages the personnel and processes associated with Accounting, Grants, and facility rentals.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS:

• Work is generally performed in a typical office environment with standard desk, equipment,
fluorescent lighting and a moderate noise level. Requirements include:
• Occasional lifting up to ten (10) pounds
• Frequent sitting, with occasional bending, reaching, and standing
• Frequent use of hands, keyboarding, and writing
• Vision, auditory, and mental acuity within normal ranges
--- Earn and sustain the public’s trust through honest, truthful and responsible communication, conduct, transactions, partnerships and relationships.
--- Prepare and submit, in an accurate, complete and timely manner, all financial reports, including the CAFR, the ADE, the Audit, the Transportation report, and Financial Transparency reports for the Board, Colorado Department of Education and the community.
--- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
--- Build and implement systems necessary to hire, motivate, develop, position, and retain the best people to meet organizational and departmental goals.
--- Assess and implement investment policy and procedures, cash flow management and internal controls to prevent and manage monetary and operational risk, loss and liability.
--- Intentionally collaborate with colleagues, district leadership, and other stakeholders to improve District efficiency.
--- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of and compliance with State and Federal accounting laws and regulations.
--- Build and maintain financial controls, and oversee all accounting functions to achieve financial sustainability.
Five (5) years of Accounting Experience. K-12 School District or Governmental Agency Experience preferred | Required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills | Required
Certified Public Accountant - National Association of State Boards of Accountancy/CO DORA
Bachelor's Degree: Accounting (Required), Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration (Required), Bachelor's Degree: Financial Management (Required)
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate, including preparation and presentation of detailed, complex analyses and recommendations, Ability to consistently maintain a generally positive and professional attitude, Ability to successfully work independently on multiple projects, establishing priorities, Advanced knowledge and skill in the application of governmental and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Advanced verbal and written English communication skills and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic and oral instructions, Commitment to working the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job, Communicates effectively and positively with the school district community, Demonstrable interpersonal and supervisory skills, Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes, Proficiency in problem solving and data analysis within complex, multi-disciplined organizations requiring significant attention to detail and superior analytical skills, Strong detail orientation, time management and organizational skills, Willingness and commitment to observe and model all District policies and procedures, Working knowledge of, and ability to develop and report upon relevant performance measures
