Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Executive Search to establish and lead a centralized executive recruiting function responsible for attracting and hiring senior leadership talent across Clio's global business. This hands-on leader will create a consistent, high‑quality approach to Senior Director, VP, and SVP+ hiring, partnering closely with executives to deliver exceptional leadership talent that enables the company's continued growth.

In this role, you will drive excellence across every aspect of executive hiring, from talent strategy and market mapping to assessment, selection, and executive engagement. You will build proactive leadership pipelines, provide data‑driven market intelligence that informs talent and organizational decisions, and elevate the quality and consistency of executive hiring practices worldwide. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity to define and scale Clio's executive search capability and play a critical role in shaping the future of the company.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the global executive search strategy for Senior Director, VP, and SVP+ hiring across all business units and regions, partnering closely with Talent Acquisition leaders.
  • As a player/coach, you will own end‑to‑end delivery of executive searches, personally leading the most strategic and highly confidential searches while ensuring exceptional execution across the broader portfolio.
  • Build, develop, and lead a lean, high‑performing Executive Search team, establishing clear expectations, operating rhythms, and a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and operationalize Clio's executive hiring playbook, creating standardized practices for executive assessment, interview calibration, stakeholder governance, succession planning, and confidentiality.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑suite executives and senior business leaders, influencing hiring decisions through thoughtful consultation, rigorous talent assessment, and market expertise.
  • Develop long‑term executive talent pipelines and strategic market maps for critical leadership capabilities, ensuring Clio maintains a strong bench of external leadership talent.
  • Deliver meaningful market intelligence, competitive insights, and talent landscape analysis that inform hiring strategies, organizational design, and workforce planning.
  • Define and execute Clio's executive search partner strategy, optimizing agency relationships, reducing external search spend where appropriate, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience from first conversation through close.
  • Establish metrics and reporting that measure executive hiring quality, speed, diversity, and long‑term success, using data to continuously improve outcomes.

Who You Are

  • An experienced executive search leader with a demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional Senior Director, VP, and executive‑level hiring across complex, global organizations.
  • A hands‑on builder who thrives on rolling up their sleeves, creating new capabilities, scaling teams, and establishing world‑class executive recruiting practices.
  • A trusted advisor who builds credibility quickly with executives through sound judgment, strong business acumen, and thoughtful communication.
  • Deeply skilled in executive assessment, succession planning, market mapping, executive networking, and proactive talent engagement.
  • A strategic thinker who balances long‑term talent planning with flawless execution of today's most critical leadership hires.
  • Data‑driven and outcome‑oriented, using insights and metrics to improve decision‑making and continuously raise the quality of executive hiring.
  • Comfortable operating in highly confidential environments with exceptional discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Passionate about delivering an executive candidate experience that reflects Clio's values and strengthens our employer brand.
