We are hiring a Director, EPMO and Project Delivery for our Calgary head office. If you can influence stakeholders, build strong teams, and deliver measurable business value, we want to hear from you!

As Director, EPMO and Project Delivery, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead the development of project delivery standards, governance practices, portfolio priorities, and organizational change management capabilities that support our strategic goals. In this role, you will work closely with IT, functional, and executive leaders to align projects, resources, priorities, and risks across the organization. You will provide direct leadership to employees and indirect oversight of consultants, vendors, and project resources, helping drive consistent delivery, business value, and strong organizational performance.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the EPMO and project delivery function, ensuring IT projects and programs are aligned with business strategy, stakeholder needs, and organizational priorities
  • Establish and continuously improve project delivery standards, governance practices, tools, processes, and reporting frameworks
  • Partner with executive, functional, and IT leaders to prioritize the project portfolio based on capacity, risk, value, and strategic impact
  • Oversee project planning, execution, budgets, resources, milestones, risks, dependencies, and overall delivery performance
  • Monitor project health, financial performance, and business value realization, using portfolio insights to improve planning, decision-making, and accountability
  • Identify and resolve project risks and issues, developing contingency plans to support successful delivery outcomes
  • Embed organizational change management into IT projects, including stakeholder analysis, communication planning, training, readiness, adoption, and measurement
  • Lead, coach, and develop project managers, delivery teams, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional resources, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

What we would like from you

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise project delivery, portfolio governance, program management, or technology-enabled business transformation in large-scale, complex environments, preferably within construction, materials, manufacturing, logistics, or a related industry
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading project managers, delivery teams, consultants, vendors, or cross-functional project resources in a matrixed environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field; MBA, master’s degree, PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Prosci, or equivalent certification considered an asset
  • Proven experience leading strategic technology initiatives, governance practices, and change management activities that support adoption and operational performance
  • Strong understanding of enterprise project delivery, portfolio management, technology platforms, business applications, and delivery tools such as ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, Visio, Power BI, SharePoint, Planner, Jira, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives involving business, technology, vendor, and operational stakeholders
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage executive-level stakeholders
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to assess risks, solve complex problems, adapt quickly, and make sound decisions in a changing environment

Location and other key details:

  • This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office
  • The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional additional hours as required
  • Travel to various job sites will be required
