GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

As a member of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Senior Leadership team, the Director, Epidemiology, Analytics and Surveillance is accountable for providing collaborative leadership and expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, programs and initiatives that support and advance the Agency’s mission, values, policies and strategic direction.

The Director, Epidemiology, Analytics and Surveillance partners and collaborates with Executive Leadership, Directors, Managers and external partners and is accountable to lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the SCA’s Cancer Analytics and Surveillance Programs. The Cancer Surveillance Program provides the organization and the province quantitative and qualitative information across the cancer control continuum that is used to monitor cancer and the cancer system in Saskatchewan, this includes; cancer surveillance and projections, advanced analytics and models to analyse and improve cancer services and client experience, including leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and other advanced Analytics to inform business decisions and enterprise strategies, evaluate the provincial cancer system and support epidemiological research. In addition, provide and curate relevant cancer data for appropriate consumers for quality and research purposes. The position also provides scientific directorship of Healthy Future Sask and the Saskatchewan Cancer Registry.

QUALIFICATION

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Five to ten years progressive experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in program development and program management.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • extensive knowledge of cancer control, health service delivery, epidemiology, data management, and indicator development
  • Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of database systems.
