Job Description

The Director, Enterprise Talent Initiatives is a critical leadership role within GE Vernova’s Talent Management Center of Excellence (TM COE). This leader is responsible for driving the governance, prioritization, strategic oversight of the enterprise talent initiative portfolio, and leading complex global initiatives with ELT level visibility and executive sponsorship. Partnering closely with Talent Segment Leaders, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional COEs, the role ensures that GE Vernova’s talent needs are surfaced, assessed, sequenced, and executed in alignment with business strategy.

This role drives enterprise-level, time-bound talent programs that address emerging or unmet talent needs not covered by existing offerings. This leader will determine what solutions are fit for purpose, leveraging external thought partners and key internal stakeholders to inform whether short term fix or long term implementation. The role brings structure to ambiguous challenges, enabling clarity, alignment, and decision-making across a diverse set of stakeholders.

This role also serves as a key partner to the Head of Talent Management, supporting executive-level reporting, operating mechanisms, enterprise materials, and broad coordination across the TM COE.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Enterprise Talent Solutions

  • Act as first point of contact to triage complex talent and workforce planning gaps, identifying the key problems to solve and sequencing the actions required.
  • Serve as program leader for enterprise-level, time-bound talent projects that address business-driven talent gaps not met by existing solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end program management: scoping, requirements, stakeholder alignment, execution orchestration, change management, and measurement of results.
  • Assemble and lead a matrix of global cross-functional teams of all levels of subject matter experts, influencing without authority to execute on strict timelines.
  • Apply structured problem-solving to bring clarity, data, and prioritization to ambiguous or emerging talent challenges.
  • Ensure new or enhanced offerings integrate smoothly into the broader enterprise talent ecosystem.

Strategy, Insights & Executive Support

  • Lead analysis and development of portfolio insights, identify and develop bespoke solutions (e.g. dashboards, KPIs, metrics) to inform and drive strategic decision making as a partner to the Head of Talent Management
  • Act as thought leader and partner on development of executive updates, and materials for CTO/CPO, executive committees, and business reviews on behalf of and in partnership with the Head of Talent Management.
  • Conduct regular Gemba of talent needs, market trends, stakeholder input, and enterprise data to inform portfolio prioritization and design.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment processes that connect business strategy to workforce, leadership, and talent development needs.
  • Develop strategic recommendations and models that support enterprise talent strategy evolution.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with HRBPs, COE leaders, Talent Segment Leaders, and business executives to ensure alignment and adoption of talent solutions.
  • Create clarity and shared understanding across diverse stakeholders through structured communication, frameworks, and decision artifacts.
  • Act as connector across the TM COE to ensure consistency, reduce duplication, and maximize impact of enterprise talent initiatives.

Governance & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead the governance process for GE Vernova’s enterprise talent initiative portfolio, ensuring clear visibility, sequencing, and decision-making across the TM COE.
  • Establish and manage operating rhythms that enable prioritization, resource allocation, and progress tracking for talent initiatives.
  • Build and maintain the enterprise talent “inventory,” ensuring cross-functional transparency into active, planned, and proposed solutions.
  • Facilitate decision forums with Talent Segment Leaders, HRBPs, functional COEs, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 10+ years of talent management, HR, strategy, or program management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex portfolios, cross-functional initiatives, or enterprise-wide programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a matrixed, global industrial or technology environment.
  • Expertise in talent management frameworks, workforce strategies, or leadership development.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize insights and articulate implications for talent strategy.
  • Advanced program management skills, including governance, change management, risk management, and multi-stakeholder leadership.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with a track record of influencing senior leaders.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $195,000 and $250,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
